We have a 2013. Barely open and wouldn't close fully. Tried everything on the internet to fix it. No luck. Came across your video by searching "How to brute force open toyota sienna power door". I was at the point we were going to get it open no matter what. You were on the second of three pages. We couldn't pop off the handle cover, so we had to slowly use a small bit and wrench to get the phillips screw out. Took 30 minutes. Popped it open and although the 2013 looks different than the one in the video, we saw what to do. It did not work. Silly us had the power enabled for the door. As soon as we turned the power button off it OPENED! We wept with joy. This happened to a 2008 we owned and NO ONE could fix it and we got rid of the car. THANK YOU for taking the time to make the video. It saved our Sienna.
I get it watching you, but it passed my DIY skills once you had to remove the window and the latches. Thanks for the theory, though. Your explanations make sense.
2:09 i swear i really thot my door was gona open wen i did this lol. only the bak end would get loose n the front is stuk wont budge even an inch. now wat?
What if my entire mechanism fell inside the door. We bought it used and it looks like the first owners jay rigged it and idk how to open the dang thing or how to reconnect all the bs.
@@kylescarfarm yeah both are broken yesterday i pulled the handle and it snapped off. The other one broke within a week of owning it and when i popped the inside pannle to see if i could atleast get the thing open the mechanism inside fell and a spring fell into the door. (The cables are detached)
@@kylescarfarm can you reccomend a place to buy parts? I looked on the toyota website and about fell over. Lol i might check local auto part stores after the holiday, but yeah the vehicle is great just needs alot of TLC.
@@kylescarfarm it looks like they zip-tied it together but not very well. Since the zip ties all snapped and parts fell inside the door. I got my work cut out for me.
BUT.....HOW do you do this on a 3rd gen Sienna ( 2016).....where the BEZEL around the handle is NOT REMOVABLE......but is common and PART OF the complete interior door panel ?????..... Arghhhh !!!!!

Glad it helped!
Thank so much, my 2005 Sienna has the same issue. Following your instructions and it's OK now.

I don’t have this problem yet but I am so thankful you made this video so I know what to do when this does happen.
Thank you for this video. Exactly same thing on mine, just other side
Glad it helped
You helped me out bud. Thank you
Sooooo helpful! This is the only video I could find that Describes my problem!
Thanks for the help releasing my stuck door!
Thanks for this video really helped me out 👍
Very helpful
Glad to hear that
You are a genius thank you
Glad it helped
THANK YOU!!!
Thanks a lot man!
Do you think the Mazda 5 sliding door is similar enough that it'll work?
I hit that mechanism with the two cables and push but the door still don’t open any ideas
One of the cables may have broken or detached
Will this work if the cable has snapped and the door is stuck shut?
It sure will. If the cable hasn't been cut out yet it may cause some additional resistance however.
This is a base base model Sienna.

Just bump the rear side of the door with your hip to close the door all the way then it will open using the inside handle do it all the time
That would not work in this situation. Clearly you didn't watch the entire video or understand the issue with the rear latch that I had to repair.

Are the cables still attached to the latches? If so you should still be able to pull on them to open it. Are both doors messed up?

A local self-service juck yard could have the parts for cheap, sometimes buying the whole door is more economical than buying individual parts.

Just acquired a 2015 so I may have a video on 3rd gens someday
I’m so sad. I did this and pushed that part but it didn’t work. The door is still stuck shut. I can’t afford to buy another car.
Keep trying! Hope it works for you!
Looks like this car was in a flood.
Rural gravel roads actually. The door jambs were very dirty.
