The singer (Remington Leith) wrote the song and directed the video. As a child, he was mentally and physically abused by his father, and was sent into a horrible depression because of it. He thought that if he looked like someone else (the makeup, dress etc) then he'd become someone else, and so his father would like him. Him and his brothers now use their middle names as their last name because they dont wanna be associated with their father. They hint at their dad in a lot of their songs, like 'I'm looking for you out there' from You'll be Fine, 'I cant take it, all the memories' in death dance, and 'he told me had to change my ways, had to stop with the childish games, so I told the man no, I'm never ever gonna change, this is how I am, gonna feel my own pain,' in get higher. They're a fascinating, beautiful band, and Remington is also the voice of Johnny Faust in the movie American Satan.
