Thanks for the informative video. Just noticed one thing, I think the "sides" on the reference line got swapped places @ 11:43 / 37:38 of this video. I believe the "Arrow side" would be under the reference line and the "Other side" would be above the reference line.
Just something to correct. At 11:49 min is showing up a slide with the welding symbol elements arrow side and other side inverted. Cheers and super great video!!!!
GREAT VIDEO. Question: at 35:00, it's telling me to weld 9/16 penetration... that's over 1/2 an inch, (I am still learning) but can someone tell me how one would even achieve that deep of penetration? I feel dumb asking this...
@11:42 ?????? Brother I’m grateful for the info/video truly is a blessing !! Butttt I believe written info vs symbol areee backwards champ … unless I’m half sleep 🤔🙆🏻♂️🥴
The codes are not universal. Here is a website with a list of welding codes and the organizations that author the codes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_welding_codes
At 11:47 it saids that anything above the reference line is on the other side and anything below is on the arrow side. But the example does not match that……
Learned a few things but some slides went by quickly with no commentary. Also I hope I never hear about staggered fillet welds again as that was repeated ad nauseam. Thanks!
At 11:20 Statements are correct but illustration is incorrect. Above reference line should be "other side" and below reference line should be "arrow side."
This is a great video for someone just starting out. However, it seems a little confusing with a few misleading things that were probably incorrectly posted. I really like the video though!
No they are not wrong if you have ever done construction you would know that outside to inside is the same as center to center. Or in this case start to start is the same dimension as center to center for intermittent welds of the same length
Too much adds man, i get you want to get as much for it but dude, this makes me not want to support you guys and use add block all the time. It takes away from the learning when after ever 3 min, there are double adds.
That is a Google RUclips thing - I make a grand total of about 600$ a year on this stuff - 3/4 of a tank of gas a month. That said thanks for the feedback and watching.
One and only channel that has real and valuable information about welding. Thanks garry
Thank You for making this video! i am in welding school right now and this is all new to me and this video is extremely helpful and informative
This was extremely helpful for studying for my mechanical PE exam. Thank you!
Excellent video! Retired Vet, getting ready to take my Course - and PASS!
Great explanation, man. I appreciate
Garry,
Thanks for the education. I am just starting out as a welder and your tutorial provided me with a wealth of knowledge and reference materials.
Great content. Thanks for posting. Got a weld test tomorrow. Refreshing tonight.
Thanks for your information Gary keep it up Brother I'm watching from South Africa
You make it very simple and to the point. Nice tutorial.👍👍👍
This is precisely what I was looking for since a long time.
Wow! Thanks so much for this! very clear and to the point, trying to read structural drawings in the field and I'm not a structural guy.

Good information to know, thanks for the video. The guys voice reminds me of K-Billy's super sounds of the 70s radio station 😁
Very good information and explanation. Thank you.
Awe some with simple explanation, can you please post advanced welding symbols like penetration, how to decide welding size and material factors
at 11.48, arrow side and other side needs to be flipped, overall great video, learnt a lot...............
11:48 yes

Arrow side and Other Side gets swapped up at 11:43
Yeah it is messed up at that point. Too late to fix it - it has been messed up for ten years too big of a pain to fix it.
@11:42 ?????? Brother I’m grateful for the info/video truly is a blessing !! Butttt
I believe written info vs symbol areee backwards champ … unless I’m half sleep 🤔🙆🏻♂️🥴
Great presentation, thanks!
very nice Vedeo Technical

Are the codes universal, I'm from the UK are the codes the same throughout the world or just for the US?

Great video!!!
Thank you so so much! LEarned lots!
How to define welding dimension for different thickness of plate
Very informative. Thank you.
Hi teacher, can you make for us a video for haw to read engineering drawings of shop steel beams? Tanks.
thank you
Thanks for the video..
Easy to understand. Thanks
Awesome !!
I
t is very clear to understanding..
At 11:47 it saids that anything above the reference line is on the other side and anything below is on the arrow side. But the example does not match that……
Yeah I know i messed up, but to fix it would be a pain in neck. So it stays as it has been up there for damned near a decade. Sorry about that.
Thanks
Nice👍
thank you sir, i already subscribed you
Thank you sir
Thanks Sir
Thankyou garry
Thank you thank you for this
Learned a few things but some slides went by quickly with no commentary. Also I hope I never hear about staggered fillet welds again as that was repeated ad nauseam. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback - I will have to take a look and clean it up - Take care and thanks again for the feedback
At 11:20
Statements are correct but illustration is incorrect. Above reference line should be "other side" and below reference line should be "arrow side."
Yeah I know - I messed up - but to go back and change it is bigger pain that it is worth - sorry about the mistake in there -
@@gpacex no worries, love the content and thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. That is why I am here 🙏

Some images and wordings are too small to read... Pls make the words in readable size.
dont know how to measure 9/16 thing little still confused?
To much Redundancy. Also 11.20-thru-11.49 show arrow and other side in wrong locations.
Arrow side and other side needs to be flipped also ur spacing is wrong at 21:37
No they are not wrong if you have ever done construction you would know that outside to inside is the same as center to center. Or in this case start to start is the same dimension as center to center for intermittent welds of the same length
Too many commercials on the channel..👎🏼
