What I'm most amazed by is Tyson's durability. He had no swelling, no cuts no nothing at the end of the fight. That's fucking insane, he got caught flush so many times with powerful hooks and straights. Speaks to what a monster he was genetically, he had to beat himself because he subconsciously knew no one could beat him.

Perfect storm dethroned him. Lost 2 mentors, got duped by Don King, and taken from his trainer, lost a mother, a sister, and a child, and IMO got falsely convicted of rape from a girl who had a history of false allegations.
Like Rocky said "Nobody hits harder than life"

What happened to the myth that Tyson crumbled when somebody fought back????
Nobody wanted to fight Ruddock in his prime including Holyfield and Foreman! Tyson fought Ruddock twice just to get a shot at winning his title back from Holyfield! This is proof that Tyson could win a 12 round war against a massive puncher who was not intimidated! This fight doesn't get enough recognition!
Tyson all time top 5 no problem.

Tyson almost always slipping those punches, when Razor throws a right, Tyson moves his head to the left, Tysons defense much better that Ruddocks. Dave Morgan
The problem with big fighters like Ruddock is that they usually don't accurately land their power punches, especially against smaller boxers. That's one of the reasons why you find that they make use of the jab quite often.

I agree. Made for a good fight though. Very rarely see heavies able to take these kind of shots clean. Unbelievable durability particularly from Tyson as he walked through Razors shots without getting rocked once!
I remember the commentator at the start of this fight saying that these were the two biggest punchers in the heavyweight division! Ok Razor went down a couple of times but he was never legless. Tyson was rock solid throughout. Now, if Joshua fought Wilder and they were both landing clean, would they be able to walk through each other’s shots? I don’t think so!
Massive credit to Tyson and Razor here, this fight deserves way more recognition!

Well, I guess Mike did KO Douglas...Buster Douglas was down for 13 seconds, but the referee, unfortunately for Tyson, was so slow to start counting... Tyson was unprepared for the fight, and admits to not taking Douglas seriously, going out partying in Tokyo, and essentially disrespecting and under-estimating his opponent...which is so often the case in boxing...arrogance, complacency, believing they have a right to win every fight... Tyson with Rooney in his corner, if fought Douglas then, Tyson would've won...but Buster fought an incredible fight...he was excellent on the night, just a shame he couldn't maintain it
