    Take a tall and highly charismatic frontman with a distinct hairstyle who treats his bass more like a rock n' roll assault cannon, a highly experienced Californian guitarist who ditched his native USA for a career in rock n' roll in the UK, a hungry hotshot metal guitar shredder with a huge blonde mane and a dislike for the blues, a drummer with a vicious technique and a young and ambitious keyboard with dreams to be a singer songwriter and ultimately form his own band (which he did) and you've got a supergroup right there.

    it was such a shame there was so much unrest with the bands line ups all through their history. if you take it from the original line up with eric bell, whisky in the jar, then when robo was in the band black rose,then snowy white, angel of death, and of course not forgetting the superb gary moore. every line up created some of the greatest rock songs in rock history. long live the memory of LIZZY...

    :-)

    • @thefonzkiss
      @thefonzkiss 5 лет назад

      Uh no. Maiden came first. First album was 1980. This came out 81. At the time this was seen as a bit of a Maiden/Priest soundalike. Phil always distanced himself from being heavy metal but the influence is definitely there.

    • @PeekaPeep
      @PeekaPeep 5 лет назад +6

      @@thefonzkiss Don't try to rewrite history, buddy. Thin Lizzy pre-dated Maiden by a good 10 or so years, 6 if you include the twin-lead version of the band. Even the song Massacre off their 1976 Johnny The Fox album bears a similar vibe, so much so that Iron Maiden later covered it as a B-side to their 1988 single Can I Play With Madness off their Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album.

Nonetheless that's only my opinion and it's a masterpiece just as it is. RIP Phil.
