One of the few full seasons of reality TV that I watched in real time. I love watching genuine friendships blossom. Two people who are looking for someone to connect with, sometimes are lucky in life to find a kindred spirit. Bindi and Derek make you feel happy inside when they're dancing.
I remember watching the crocodile hunter before I was a teenager. I loved that show. I loved how crazy Steve was and his whole family. Bindi is such a beautiful person in every way. I see Steve in her, and his message will live on through her. The chemistry and bond between bindi and Derek is incredible. They genuinely love each other. It's more than just a brother sister bond. It's a spiritual, soul mate kind of way. Their energies complement each other so well. They have both changed each other for the better. Bindi has shown Derek the joy of living, even during suffering, and Derek has taught bindi to really explore herself and her skills, and to push her out of her comfort zone. It is a joy seeing these two interact.
Did you notice that at times when Derek gives Bindi a hug, he closes his eyes. She is such a lovely, natural, sincere, spirited young lady, which makes her very easy to enjoy, adore, and love.
I absolutely love Derek and Bindi together. She isn't of legal age so they both have to stay apart. Neither would dare to ruin each other's image. He has dated a lot of beautiful women but Bindi was the one in his heart. I hope once she turns 18 they will be able to work together and maybe they will get together. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. I hope they see what we see!

Derek is now off to great stardom in his new Broadway and Bindi doing her humanitarian thing in Australia, so far away. I will always wish that in my lifetime I will get to see them together. Out of all the celebrities that Derek has danced with, I think Bindi made the biggest impact on his life! It would be nice to see them date later on (that would be a miracle).

I wonder if Bindi or Derek look at videos like these and of what could have been like we all have. And cry. She and Chandler were just engaged on her birthday. Their wedding is planned for 2020. Maybe he took this long to propose to make sure she had moved on from her first love. 🥰🥰🥰
I would love to see them hook up at some point but not only is the age difference an issue at least until she is 18 at least. They come from different backgrounds and have different passions they want in their lives. Derek is young as well and has so much going on...dancing, singing, photography, drawing and lots of other interests. Bindi has the zoo and I doubt would be give 90% of her time there to follow him around or visa versa. Makes me sad they could not be together as well but at least I hope they do something together and stay connected. Derek is a lover so expect to see him hooked up with someone sooner than later if he is not already! I think we are all dreamers! They are just too amazing together!
I shipped them. Derek's suggestion to put the trophy in the middle of the crocodile pond sealed it for me. Bindi said that her Dad, (Steve) told her any man who wanted to marry her would have to swim across the crocodile pond. It sounds like he is willing to comply with her late Father's wishes. She never says she loves the boyfriend.
I think he loves her in place of Steve. For the moment in time, Bindi had her father back in the form of Derek. She loves him like the father she misses. He doesn't take her place, but in a small way, fills that empty place in her heart and he just loves her like the daughter she is.
Okay I am so behind the times. I just recently discovered the magic that is Derek and Bindi together. I have watched this video twenty times now. When Derek kisses her near the ear at 2:12 does anyone know where that came from?

nice video with the song but yeah it certainly seems like its destiny though the producers pick some of the songs they dance too though i wonder about the others the ones about destiny who picked those. it certainly seems like the public opinion sees the chemistry of their dances he is good dance teacher. though they may be denying it their is something real going on for the sake of sig others and her young age right now i saw a recent interview where he praised his love for her again though trying to dance around it. from my own experience with love the worst thing is to pine and wait for someone who is with someone else though derek is older and more experienced in the relationship dept she is naive in that field. yes the public opinion does not matter to them. but if he really cares about her do not wait too long grab a shot while still young before someone else does and regret it. both seem to come from big, supportive families.
+Am rose I believe from what I picked up that the producers pick the songs most of the time. I just looked up how old Derek is because I thought he was 36, but he's only 30. As far as the bond between them, if something were to happen that Chandler was out of her life, who knows what could happen, but Derek has such a busy schedule, and Bindi is working 24/7 at the zoo, so I don't see a marriage working very well. I truly believe that they will have a very close bond for life, no matter what. Derek was SOOO incredibly protective of Bindi, if he thought a dance move wouldn't;look good for Bindi, he wouldn't do it. That came out in the package when they were working on their routine after seeing the Broadway show.Prior to one of their dances, just before they went on stage, someone was stitching something on her dress because it was going to show more skin than what he wanted her to show. He will be her big brother for years to come. I only watched the show because of Bindi and of course I fell in love with Derek, more each week. No matter how sensual their dances were, Derek was never inappropriate with her and I doubt he has ever done anything with any of his partners. There are cameras all over the place, so I don't see anything happening.He is so gifted as a dancer. The strength needed for some of their moves must be incredible. Most notably "the lift" from Dirty Dancing. They make it look easy, but if you look closely at Derek's hair, you can see his head is shaking during that lift. That was the only time I saw him struggle with anything, and he had never done a lift before, so I was happy they pulled it off. I'm sorry for this book, just got carried away.
😟 derek is not returning to the show this season i hear oh well probably doing the right thing bowing out let the other pros have a chance at the trophy with their partners so it does not become all about him. I think sasha farber be interesting to watch with kim fields and jodie sweetin seems to have ability though i thought they were gonna pair her with val i saw the fuller house clip with him it was hot.

Am rose I think we are on the same page about Derek. I wish nothing but good things for him. He is such a nice guy. He was bullied as a child, but so many of us have been. You never forget that, at least he doesn't and I don't. It's been nearly 50 years since I first got bullied, I think it was 2nd grade. That pretty much shaped my life. I was so happy that Ii actually made it through high school because I was a tomboy, never once felt pretty, the only reasons I had for anyone to like me was that I was athletic and I was very good with the trumpet. So I wasn't totally a band geek, but I loved it. If I could have, I would have loved to play football with the boys. When my own were in "little league" football (3rd-6th grade), if I was able to watch them practice, afterwards, I would kick footballs up in the air for all the boys to catch. I had as much fun as they did. Anyway, I'm rambling again, I'm sorry. It sounds like things might be getting pretty serious between Bindi and Chandler. If Terri and Robert both agree that he is a nice guy, and he does nothing to make them feel differently, it sounds like a match made in heaven by none other than Steve. It's fun to think about that but it's sad he won't be there to walk Bindi down the aisle. I'm quite sure Robert will get the honor and he will be proud to do it. Have you ever seen 2 kids not just get along with each other, but truly love each other and complement each other. Robert is SO supportive of Bindi as she is of him. Terri's story breaks my heart. Every time they showed her after Bindi's dances, she fought the tears so hard. I didn't think she would get through the freestyle when the rest of us couldn't get through it without crying.
