I recently graduated college with my Aerospace Engineering degree, and this is exactly what we do in my university's NanoSat Lab. You perfectly explained everything at an introductory level better than I ever could. Bravo, Mark. I'm going to share this with all my layman friends to show them what its like in my world.

i come from a developing country, your videos are really beyond our imagination. We can't believe that an individual can create such things. You are a true creator
This is the best video you’ve ever made to me (except maybe the reaction to the Perseverance rover’s landing, that was priceless). Not only is this is a ‘simple’ yet super cool idea to get kids excited about space, you also go to the trouble to fully explain what goes into building, testing and launching a functioning satellite in an understandable way. I’ve been following SpaceX for years, so seeing their constant mission to decrease launch costs enable actual space missions by ‘everyday people’ like this one is amazing too. Huge props to you, your audience, your team and everyone else who made this possible! Go SAT GUS!
Hollo im turk
I just wanted to thank you for making Science so freaking cool that my two daughters love doing the build boxes. I realize now that I had Mr.Wizard and now they have you. You rule and I hope one day my girls and myself have the pleasure of meeting you.
This is excellent. As a former NASA structural dynamicist (the shaking to death part) this is the best description of vibration and dynamics I've seen. Awesome job @mark! :)

Eyyy awesome! And great avali design :D
I have a VR friend who works for Maxar, has a lot of fun working on very similar stuff to this video!
As a sophomore in college studying Mechanical Engineering, this was really cool to see another real-life application to the things I'm learning in classes! The nerd in me appreciates the more in-depth look at the engineering design process on a professional level :D
Also, I didn't realize Fusion had built-in FMEA/FEA tools, neato.
Mark is probably the best teacher I’ve ever seen. We need more of this!
The evolution of tech youtubers is amazing. 10-12 years ago the videos were quick tips and coolest build was something like tkor hydrogen fule cell or kipkays furnace build, or household hackers hover shoes. Now they're actual engineers sending selfie cams to space.
There is only 1 Mark Rober.
Well then you're in for surprise to know there's more YT channels with awesome engineering content!
How to flex without flexing about being an amazing engineer who worked at NASA and is wealthy enough to launch his own satellite!! Well done, Mark!! Congratulations on your own accomplishments and thank you for making STEM so much fun and interesting.
This is genuinely the best high level introduction to satellites I have ever seen and I’m an aerospace major. Bravo Mark
As someone who’s a space systems engineer, this is awesome
Holy cow, this is pretty impressive! It's just $30 to get a selfie from orbit. That's cool. The engineering on star tracking and resonant frequency for the structure is simple to Mark but impressive to everyone else.
You can think of this another way too: Just $30 to flash your image to any aliens riding in our solar orbit. 😆 Holy crap this would be an amazing send-off for any loved ones who have passed away.
Selfie of yourself with EARTH in the background 🤡
it's like getting someone to photoshop your selfie onto a stock image of Earth from space as the background.
And another 30 bucks😂
I work for Alaska Aerospace Corporation in Kodiak, AK, where we help clients launch their satellites into polar and elliptical orbits from Pacific Spaceport Complex-Alaska!!! I’m so excited you’re sharing about this amazing field 🚀
Been to Kodiak a few times, never realized they had a space port there! Need to go back!
How does one get a job position at a place like that? I’m in the Air Force rn looking for civilian careers
Watching Mark Rober videos always make me feel smart.
This is the most incredible example of an incredibly smart person making something that is incredibly complicated look incredibly easy. Awesome stuff.
I'm glad this video is actually talking about engineering that's a bit more complex. For a while it's been more about flashy results than interesting creations, with a bit of science thrown in seemingly as an afterthought.
