Its crazy when i was 16 and knew nothing about cars i test drove a new tsx special edition and a base RSX auto. For some reason i liked the RSX more, felt like it was meant to be a good first car. But my sister told me if i didnt get the manual version I'd be GAY. Ended up getting a type s and still have it 10 years later. Never selling
Lmao. The base 5 speed and type s are the bees knees. I've always gravitated towards manual cars of any platform. Cool story man take care of the type s!
Just purchased an 06' bone stock Type S with 228k, went through all fluids then did a draggy pull for a baseline and data shows it's still running what they ran new! 👌🏼
Honest feedback - thank you sir. I'm going to check out a 1-owner base ('04 & manual) that's been in Calif its whole life. All stock & 146k on the clock.
i bought a BRAND new 2006 RSX base LEATHER, i sold it in 2018 (got a 2019 honda passport, i am getting old and was gonna start a family)... it was a fun vehicle, BUT things started to go bad, the starter/AC compressor/water pump/door actuators all went out at around 12 year mark, transmission started to go at 120K... if i had the time and money, i would have tried to fix it, but i live in texas and summers hit 110 and NO AC was not good for me. idk what these go for today, but i got my base 06 with 5 miles for 22K$, sold it in 2018 with all the problems listed for like 2K, the guy fixed everything and SOLD it for 6K in 2020...
With the age the stuff you would expect does go out as you mentioned. The best thing about these cars are the engines and transmissions (when treated well with proper maintenance) seem to last almost forever. To me it's crazy as some of these newer cars won't make it past 100k miles. That's what keeps me coming back to the older hondas
yah thanks . I luv it because of black interior and VBP color and I didn't know it has factory A spec side skirts and high wing. the only thing I don't like is that the previous owner painted it orange. but I'm planning to bring to back to VBP color.
I have a garage kept 2006 TypeS black/black with 24,000 original miles. I am the only owner, have never done any modifications, and never drove it hard ( maybe cause I was 44 when I bought it) Only driven in nice weather. Never thought it was the car I would grow old with but it’s a really fun car to drive. If I sold it, what could I get for it? Any responses would be appreciated!
Just recently bought mine on marketplace at the age of 17. I know absolutely nothing about cars and it’s pretty used all it needs is some love. I couldn’t resist the price it was 2k flat, has a little rust and whatnot I absolutely love it anyways
I got a 05 Type-S about 6 months ago with 32k miles one owner. It sat a lot and I’ve been having to replace a few things so far. Other than that the car is great!
Hey buddy I like your video I'm trying to decide between the Honda CR-Z and an Acura like this one. I live in upstate New York so it snows a lot up here. But I'm really just using the car to get back and forth as a commuter because I have a Honda Ridgeline for my work truck and I just want a car to whip around in to save gas. Which is smoother out of the two? And does the CRZ have as much horsepower as the Acura?
Appreciate u watching and hopefully I can sway you in the right direction! My personal opinion, the rsx is a better and more fun car while crz's are better commuters. Again my personal opinion. The rsx is faster and if you get a rsx type s it's almost twice the hp. I have tons of videos on the channel for both cars so definitely look into that if there's something in specific your looking for otherwise ask any questions u want man🤟
Not cool condescending automatic base RSX owners. Try driving a manual truck or car up in the hills of San Francisco such as Filbert street at 31.5% incline for the past 15 years in traffic. I got so tired of catching the clutch or using the e-brake to do the same sitting at a light on a steep hill. I have witnessed many owners of super cars stall driving up steep San Francisco streets. I drove a Shelby GT500 up Filbert Street and stalled twice. There will be a time you will regret condescending automatic cars. Automatic’s are a pleasure to drive and besides a stock Automatic Ford Crown Victoria civilian model would waste and outlast your Base RSX stick 😂
Wasn't condescending automatic base models. I stated many times all the automatic slander was purely a joke and that I know many people who have or had auto rsx's. Ik sometimes things come off a different way than intended. I hear traffic is shitty in San Francisco and don't hate on anyone who buys an automatic for that reason
@@illusiversx thank you for responding and clarifying. I enjoy your videos and wanted to respond with smack talk. Thank you for being an awesome person and wishing you success at what you do.
2004 Base auto had it converted to type s for 5400 with trans and engine, spent another thousand on replacement parts it's a daily, it's just as reliable as any other Toyota car you soup up. It isn't bulletproof. I think my base Auto was more reliable but nowhere near as quick.
another thing to note bewteen the a2, a3, and z1 is compression. the a2 has better compression for turbo and the z1 is better to run a na build. ik u also said the cam is different between the 3 but i believe its the entire head thats different
Its just a universal quick release. You can get them for any car. They dont cost that much but the one in specific I have is a Circuit wheel with a nrg quick release hub. I prefer the factory steering wheel but the quick release was already on the car when I got it.

I’m new to the Acura game but my 02’ RSX and my 04’ TL be some of my coolest and fun cars so far!
Great cars but wouldn’t buy a modified one - stock form of any of these Japanese classics is the best. Nice video
That's another thing. Stock is best for all cars honestly.
@@illusiversx yeah wise I see both sides the coin - just seems as I get older, the appeal of stock cars outweighs modifications
