I also used the D4L electronics combo on my build but decided to mount the receiver in the rear and the battery in the passenger side. That layout seemed to work much better and meant the electronics were better hidden. I also fitted a driver figure and custom painted a body. I'm very happy with the overall result considering the torture to build it!

You’re awsome to be able to solder the SMD lights. I got frustrated and bought a bunch of eBay. Believe it or not there is like 2 more smaller sizes of lights.

Hey brother, you have my favorite build video for this truck by far, excellent info and tips. I just ordered a kit, and I have a question. Do you know what the gear down ratio is on that transmission for that motor? Furitek sells a brushless motor for the Orlando’s and offer 3 different ratios for that transmission. 1:10, 1:20 and 1:30. Which would give the most speed out of those 3? It would be 1:10 correct?

Thank you man I really appreciate it! The trans is too buried in the model for me to be able to calculate the ratio myself, but what I’m seeing online is that it’s 1:10, and the motor is rated at 3000rpm. I’m no expert in gear ratios but I’m assuming that means for every 1 revolution of the motor, you’re getting 10 at the transmission output. So 1:30 would actually be faster. Since the furitek motor is going to be more powerful than stock, I’d stick with the 1:10. You don’t really want much more wheel speed than stock, it’s already pretty zippy. Hope this helps!

Thank you brotha, I went with the 1:10 and it’s perfect!!! Thanks for the advice, I’ll post a video once it’s finished

I’m not exactly sure which $277 kit you’re referencing, but besides the truck itself you will need to buy the: motor, servo, battery, charger, transmitter and receiver/ESC. If you see everything in that kit you’re good to go! Just remember to buy the correct tools as well 👍
