Ignea, again, & again, now, they just bring consistently high-quality metal, driven by a vocal goddess in Helle, & a band that plays like a well-oiled, tight machine.
It must be a temptation, when a band has a gorgeous talented lead singer, to hide behind her voice and looks. This song avoids that with some damn fine instrumentation to craft a compelling song even before the vocals truly kick in. That is a complete band.

This song is amazing! It's the first I've heard from Ignea, as I just happened to catch the premiere live stream, and I was captivated by its haunting sound and catchy hooks. I've since listened to the whole album on repeat several times. Intrigued by its diverse sounds, I dug into the lyrics and backstory, and learned about the story of Sofia Yablonska. It's an awesome concept, and the execution by Ignea is top notch!

LOL - this could have been exactly my thought! Blackbriar just released a new song and there is Ad Infinitum, The Dark Side Of The Moon and and and ... None of the old ones (Nightwish, Within Tempation, Epica, Beyond The Black, Jinjer, and and and) seems to "slow down". Gladly there is still "Beast In Black" :-)
I'm seriously getting into this band - in every tune you seem to get so much bang for your buck - and they blend different metal subgenres in a way that makes them hard to tag - I'd call it "Symphonic Metal Xtra". This fine tune is a typical example. The winning formula in it includes excellent production, the growl/clean vocal "duet", a sweet rolling melody that sits over the top and great keyboard and guitar riffs. A delight. The only problem I have with it is which playlist to put it in. My Score: Very Good 4*
