Come September they'll be hypocrites clapping for that one plus size model walking the ladies Versace show but didn't care that there wasnt one in the mens show. Male models are still expected to keep the male model standards how does that make sense if people talk about body positivity and the beauty standards

She was eventually followed by Kendall Jenner, the Hadid sisters and Kaia Gerber, who were already well known before becoming models. This phenomenon along with the simplification of runway collections led to models being the center of the industry instead of the clothes. Eventually, questions on representation showed their face along the rise of "thiccness", which led to designers and casting directors being pressured to include larger bodies in their shows. For men, however, waifness and androgyny is rising due to its appeal to girls and the rise against masculinity. This works out in Menswear designers' favour. TLDR: Female models hold more cultural importance than male models and the trend prefers thicc girls and skinny men.
