  • Finally, I made my dream pedalboard. I really based it on Dann Huff Rack restoration project.
    So some folks have been asking where I got the ToneX preset.
    Most of the main presets/captures for ToneX came from ‪@BigHairyGuitars‬
    If you have ‪@ikmultimedia‬ ToneX then you can try to go to Tone.Net and get the BHP Studio Profiles there. They are awesome!

    congratulations, I see a lot of dedication on that board. Dirty tones are insane. I've used a lot of chorus pedals cause Im crazy too about 80s chorus and the Keeley Dyno My Roto is hands down the best one.

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  3 месяца назад

      Thank you. Dyno my roto is definitely cool pedal. I was going to use that for this board but I was a sucker when I heard the review for triavatar chorus. Both are well known great pedals

    • @CoreyWitt
      @CoreyWitt 2 месяца назад

      Isn’t the Dyno My Roto a mono pedal? I’d want chorus to be stereo.

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  2 месяца назад

      @@CoreyWitt correct it’s mono but you can use TRS and Two TS TS to make it stereo. The only drawback with it will be it can’t be controlled by MIDI. Triavatar can do MIDI

  • @CoreyWitt
    @CoreyWitt Месяц назад +1

    Love this board. Another question: you wanted the H9 (H3000) to go into the TSC, but the Tri Avatar is only mono input. Does that mean your detune is mono? I’ve always assumed we want detune in stereo for the spread. Thanks again.

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  Месяц назад

      Though it’s a mono input, you can use stereo signals come in, you just need to wire the two stereo output from the Eventide to the input of the triavatar. You’ll get the same spread when you return it back to the PBC10

  • @EricLyke

    Nice bud! Need to hear this is stereo! 😀

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  4 месяца назад +1

      🙏 yes, you’re correct. I left out the Dry signal out so in the future I can mix the dry with the stereo wet. I might split the signal from loop 7 return to leave it in separate channel. So far now, I’m in happy place. I hope this will inspire you. It’s still possible to do LA Session heroes tone with newer pedals.

    Where did you get the (vintage) neck and middle Seymour Duncan pickups? (I assume they’re the hot stacks?) I haven’t seen Seymour Duncan selling his pickups with that pickup cover in recent years (maybe since the 80’s. I know Dann Huffs guitar have the same pickup covers but these days the hot stacks are sold with the blade style instead of individual pole pieces with a cover like your pickups have. I’m not sure if it changes the sound but I was curious if those are old pickups from the 80s. Also how did you attach the Fix Pedalboard Pedal riser? (possibly sold as a vertex riser but made by Tim Mitchell and crew at Fix pedalboards in Lancaster, CA). And then how do you transport that pedalboard to your gigs? I have the same Emerson pedalboard (minus the riser) but I don’t remember it coming with a case.and with the pedal riser, it would be more difficult to fit in a case. Looks like an amazing board but I imagine very heavy. Thanks for any info you can share. Sounds great!

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  3 месяца назад +1

      These are great questions. I’ll try to answer them at my best
      1. Yes, they are both hot stack on my Huff Black Classic Tyler. I got them direct from SD and you might want to give them a ring. These are new pickups but has old covers
      2. Tim made me riser and I did attach it by adding extra holes on the board. It’s a simple job to do. Couple minutes to drill the holes, line the riser up, and couple screws to secure the riser.
      3. Transport, I have a custom case for it that made by Roadcases.com and will need two people to transport it. But once, on stage or studio, the board as just simple as plugging two XLR out to the main FOH. If I fly, then I need to ship the pedalboard using Ground, instead flying with it and it’ll show up the next day I arrive to the venue.

  • @CoreyWitt

    Can you help me understand the loop that includes the IR-X and Tonex? How are you suing those two pedals since they both act as the amp/cab on their own.

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  2 месяца назад +1

      Actually it’s pretty straightforward. I alternate between preset. Tone X can do MIDI bypass. IRX can’t do that so I need to let one loop alone for it. Tone X works mainly for the clean/crunch and sometimes lead tone. IRX works as mostly for lead tone. After those have been processed then the signal will go to the effects. This will work to mimic Pre and Post effects like in Huff Rack

    @coleuzzell652 4 месяца назад +2

    Man this is great! Quick question, what would be your suggestion for pedals in a smaller board for this type of tone? Maybe 4-6 pedals not including a tuner or volume. Having the ability to go stereo is nice, but not a requirement. The gigs I play I’m usually constrained to a left right mono signal, but have access to two separate channels sometimes. Thanks!

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  4 месяца назад +2

      I’ll recommend to get the new Fender/RJM switcher, Tricerachorus, Poly Reverb, IRX, flashback delay 2, and H90. Check also Shnobel Tone volume/expression selector. It’ll help to keep the volume/expression as one pedal, simplified. You’ll still get the core sound but powerful for gigging in left right mono signals. You won’t need the DI if you’re going mono but I’ll recommend to get it DI Box just in case your venue will cause your direct signal humming issue/ground loop

  • @rockstarjazzcat

    Nice. It's my understanding that originally it was common to use the tri-chorus to split into stereo before hitting micropitch and reverb, which were subsequently followed by delay units to keep the stereo. My 90's rack rigs were built with complete lack of awareness of routing that came before. Recently I've gotten really magical sounds recreating the earlier routing. So a couple of questions, do you know if Landau prefers micropitch before tri-chorus in later years, and is it simply preference you run it before tri-chorus? Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks and awesome work! Cheers, Daniel

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  4 месяца назад +1

      I don’t know how to answer your question accurately for Mike’s tri stereo setup. The best person who can answer your question would be David Philips LA Sound Design. He does board for Landau. However, I’ll try to answer it in my best knowledge. If you do micropitch after chorus then it’ll be less spread in chorusing. Less subtle chorus. I tried it and sounds okay. I like to put chorus after the micropitch, plus I also can change the dynamics of H9/harmonizer options. This is the reason why I put it first before the chorus

    Really cool pedalboard! Interesting design. Great 80's tones. I really like the Tri Avatar chorus and 2290P. You really have the Tone X dialed in! What do you use the H90 for? Thanks for this video.

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  4 месяца назад +1

      Very good question, H90 patch like Red Room or take the van (the original patches) can layer the tri stereo chorus. With PBC10 you can get super lush chorus in paralel when you do have two choruses in parallel. You will get that thick nice Rhodes type of voicing from guitar from left to right. Technically, it’s W/D/W setup but mixed in stereo

  • @z_gibson4rock
    @z_gibson4rock Месяц назад

    I love that tone! I also have the TC Electronic 2290 pedal too, what settings did you use for it?

    • @andrewraharjo
      @andrewraharjo  Месяц назад

      Thank you, I think I alternate between presets. I think I use mostly preset ping pong delay, dynamic delay, and layer chorus. 2299P needs to run in parallel to get that stereo effect. You can create your own preset and pan the delay at 500ms. Sine wave will give you more spread with chorus and detune
