  • It's now mandatory to perform two Covid-19 tests after international travel. You're required to perform a test on or before day 2 for variant surveillance, and another test on or after day 8 of your quarantine, to check that you do not have coronavirus. I'm Dr Adam Abbs, and in this short video I'll explain the process of day 2 and 8 testing for Covid.

    Genuine question: why do we need to quarantine for 10 days if either day 2 or day 8 tests come back negative?

      @Canuckle19 3 года назад

      Because the incubation period of the virus can last from 10 to 14 days. Should be thankful it isn't 14.

    If you don't have to quarantine
    Do you still need the day 2 and day 8 test?
    What is the purpose of the test and is it required to physically get OUT of the airport

    Is this still mandatory? If I were travelling from Australia to the UK would I still need a day 2 and day 8 PCR test although I don't need to quarantine?

    What does Day 2 mean? For example, if I arrive in UK on Sunday it means I have to take the test by Tuesday or by Wednesday?

    • @markbaxx3453
      @markbaxx3453 2 года назад +3

      Sunday, (the day you arrive), is considered day 0. Hence in this instance you should take the test on Tuesday.
