I'm an ear doctor and I prescribe this to my patients suffering from Tinnitus: Take one Vulcan sound, once a month, and Tinnitus symptoms will be greatly reduced.
I was in RAF Luqa, Malta in the late 60's when flight of 3 scrambled past me about 150 metres from where I was working, talk about earth moving. Or so I thought until the Krefeld, Germany 600 year celebrations in the early 70's when a Vulcan flew around quite gently , until it was overhead when the pilot stood the Vulcan on it's tail with full power, mind numming springs to mind. dave dave thank you for the reminder.
I had my headphones on. My eardrums tried to meet in the middle of my head. When the Vulcan first appeared in this video, I had a déjà vu back to September 1956, when my parents took my brothers and me out of school for a couple of hours. We were at Taneatua School and we went to Whakatane and stood in Stewart Street to wait the first RAF Vulcan do a fly-by on its tour around New Zealand. We saw this huge white dart sliding across the sky, banking towards us, just like in the video, and then putting on the power as it turned on the heading towards Gisborne. It's the kind of memory that doesn't go away. We were very distressed when it crashed on landing back in Britain.
@@AliHaider-hl6db The Vulcan aircraft itself is long gone from RAF service, and XH558 (the one in the video) was the only one left that could fly, but is now too old to do so.
In the mid 1980's the RAF resurfaced the runway at Coningsby so we (29 Sqn) had to relocate to Waddington. On second night shift got to see a Vulcan QRA scramble up close and personal and am still traumatised by it. Amazing aircraft thanks for the reminder :)
Olenga Gallardo I couldn’t agree with you anymore. That noise sends shivers down your spine. Imagine what the Argentinians heard before those bombs were dropped. Thanks for watching
@@hateallhunters Excellent video, sat here with goosebumps. Remember seeing one at an airshow with its slow leisurely turns wondering how it didnt just drop out of the sky. Love to see/hear one again.
I missed the final tour - I was bedridden and very ill. I'm devastated that I missed the Carlisle visit because it's not far from me. Will I ever see one fly again? I doubt it :(
@@hateallhunters Sadly Concorde won't fly again, Airbus & Rolls Royce won't support the aircraft, with out their support the CAA simply won't allow Concorde to fly.
Aviatorspot they were designed by the same person who designed the Lancaster bomber. I think it still holds the record for the longest ever bombing raid
Since I don't live in the UK, Why was the Vulcan Retired ? It is hard enough keeping up with the stuff here in the US, Seems like the Vulcan was younger than our B-52 and it is still going. What Does the UK have for a large Bomber now?
Rich Dillon the wonderful Vulcan was retired because the only one that was flyable was this one up until 2015, it was used as a display aircraft and was funded privately. The decision came after three crucial engineering backers decided to end their support for the aircraft, which meant under the Civil Aviation Authority regulations, the plane could not be flown past 2015. Also the men and women responsible for and capable of maintaining its safety had become increasingly difficult to find as many had retired or passed away. The engines were also over their flying hours.
@@hateallhunters Thank you for the answers I was curious about, It is a shame that a beautiful bird like that had to be retired, But at the same time I understand. I bet the Sky's over the UK are to quiet now without the Vulcan Flying. I have to say that the our B-70 we had and the Vulcan our 2 of my favorite planes. Thanks again.
XH558 flew again for 8 years.....every year the operator needed to find around £3m to cover maintenance over the airshow season......most funds coming from the general public !. Comparing the Vulcan and B-52 is difficult. The Vulcan's agility comes from the fact she needed to get into the air within minutes, had a nuclear attack been aimed at the UK. The performance was needed to get the plane away from the nuclear attack....hence the high performance climb rate. The vulcan fleet were at the end of their service life by the 1980's. They had a reprieve for the Falklands conflict.....then I think most were scrapped around 1984 ?. The Vulcan was more than capable of doing rolls and loops....but rarely did them !
I live in nz when I was a kid a Vulcan came to nz for the opening of wellington airport and broke the left landing leg and crashed at ohakea airforce base it was repaired and flew back to the UK can anyone tell what the number of this Vulcan was
Thanks for your criticism. The video wasn’t meant to be as successful as it was, as it was only recorded off an iPhone 6 and I’m not a professional. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. Have a great Xmas
Absolutely priceless!
What a beautiful machine, set against the most amazing sky.
Exactly where it belongs ❤
YES---like it's birth child, Concorde.
The Vulcan must have one of the largest dynamic ranges of any aircraft...eerie silence one moment to bleeding ears a few seconds later
I agree.
Totally agree. Also stomach moving..

Just outstanding
I love how one minute it sounded like a passenger planes, then the next it sounds like a fighter jet.

Beautiful videography, the Vulcan against a perfectly-exposed blue sky with white clouds. A fine tribute!
Thank you
My mum was given two of the windscreen wipers of the xh558 as a birthday present she is sadly no longer with us but I have kept them.
Great video, reminds me of RAF open days back in the 80's, as the vulcan came past your chest would vibrate, this video really catches it.
Thank you 🙏

Must have been an amazing sight
Never realised it was such a great display at Carlisle airport, I only just caught it going past the city that day as I was working, beautiful
What a beast... Looks as sleek as a stingray !
When babies moan, car alarms go off and grown men cry, yes it's the Vulcan
Love it. Correct
I want a Vulcan to fly over my grave .....I think it could wake the dead.
The dead would be turning in the grave!
The BOMBER that thought she was a FIGHTER.
Wow first time seen this today. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome
Neil Brown thank you. Wish she still flew. Wasn’t expecting 3 passes.
Somebody measured it. Apparently louder that 4 x B52's at the same time.
The most intimidating aircraft ever! Makes the F35 look like a toy.
