I saw Steel Panther open up for Judas Priest and when Steel Panther was on you could tell the audience didn't get it except for a few people. The audience was mostly there for Judas Priest and it was in an arena. When I saw Steel Panther at a club a year or two before the Judas Priest concert, the audience totally got it and laughed their butts off because they were there for Steel Panther.

Not to dismiss Nikki's writing talent because obviously he has a talent for writing, but as a musician nobody in Motley Crue can hold a candle to anyone in Steel Panther. It's really apples to oranges comparing Motley Crue with Steel Panther because Steel Panther are accomplished musicians that are also comedians and that is what they do. Motley Crue, much like Kiss, developed a form of entertainment and an image that appealed to many people. And much like Kiss the guys in Motley Crue way overestimate their musical abilities. Deep down I think the members of Motley Crue (and Kiss) realize they aren't accomplished musicians and are successful because of theatrics, not because they are good musicians, and that's what makes them all so bitter towards more talented musicians.
and whenever bands say goodbye three years later they're back for that 'comeback tour.' Ozzy has said too many times. Before Neil's death, Rush said goodbye to the stage but they also did it in such a classy way. Rush are definitely one of the best.
