Excellent. So many churches are preaching feel good sermons rather than the gospel of sin, repentance & salvation.

I came away with one overwhelming thought. All of us who are fighting for biblical truth will need loads of courage now and in the future. Our Pastor's have it rough as they fight in their circles and we who sit under them have it difficult as well as we navigate truth in our workplace, friends, and family. It's rough out there. Thank you for a another great podcast!

While we are on the topic of compromising and skipping. When we skip, (unless sick) we are saying, God, you are not that important this week. The more we do it, the easier it is to do that again, and again (perhaps like bible reading and prayer) and before you know it, weeks, months, years may pass by before once again God is realized as important. When we do attend church we say, God, you are important. You have a message for us to know and learn. We also say to one another, validating fellowship you are important to me, and you and I can make a difference in one another's life, as Iron sharpens Iron. When we spoil our kids and give in to their every whim and desire, they learn they can manipulate parents and later disrespect them as well as God, not seeing any immediate consequence. This is a dangerous path to take. Much as we love our kids, God must always be first and foremost.

Just as Satan and demons wish to pervert those they can divert, we ought to be snatched out of the fire, those who can yet still be by the grace of God, redeemed and converted to a solid faith in Jesus Christ. The world and all that is in it with its passe facades will pass away, but the Word of God is true and eternal, it will never pass away.

I am old school (very old school) ~ Hebrews 13:8 plainly tells us ~ Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. v.9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. God hasn't moved, people do. God doesn't change, we do, as do dictionaries, cultures, and language. Those who desire to be lawless will find any excuse to do so. Our best advice comes from the wisest man who ever lived, the King (who got to try out whatever he pleased), and his conclusion? Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Here is the absurdity of meeting in the middle. If the right moved to the left to meet in the middle, and the left moved to the right to also be in the middle, which one of the two if not the two are unnecessary? For Jesus said, a house divided against itself will fall. We are seeing that happen each and every day before our very eyes, as those who now lead, cannot even lead themselves, control their tongues, their lusts, or rule well their families. The good news is it is temporal. In the end, God does work out all things for good, and perfect order is restored, evil is first locked up 1,000 years, then even better cast into the lake of fire where it will torment no more. Praise be to God.

I think Pastor Darryl ends all wars and arguments by - you know what you are right. This disarms the opponent. So when it comes to Prideful Arrogance or humility - we can say, Jesus was humble enough for us all. He emptied Himself. If there is anything we ought to boast in - it is God, and not ourselves. I love how Dr. Roach rightly divides humility as not of the mind, it is an act of the will. So if someone calls me arrogant, and prideful, I simply respond yes, I am a sinner, and so are you. Are you ready to repent, and confess now? Because if you go on, I will truly see a greater arrogance that has no shame or humility. As the old Chinese proverb, One may think of one as a fool, and when one opens the mouth, all doubt is removed.

There's a new one also for me they didn't teach back in the day at bible school, Narrative Theology. Like Dr. Roach says, we all have different stories and experiences, if we go by those, it is like Jesus said, the blind, leading the blind. What do you think, I don't know. What do you think, uh, not much. Which way should we go, to the right or the left? What feels good? Let's guess, and hope it works out. Jon said it best, You shall know the Truth, (Jesus), and knowing the Truth, He will set you free. In other words, until our stories, line up to point to Jesus, to point to the glory of His transformative work in action in us, we will all be amiss and miss the mark. No one can possibly listen to 9 billion stories. While God made each one unique, He also gave each one a purpose, and that is to bring Him glory. When we do that, we will be on the right narrative and the right track.

Kyle astutely brings it into focus, the good can do good, but it is never enough. Of course, my question to the loud-mouth protestors, is what good is it you are actually doing, apart from being divisive, combative, and argumentative without resolve or relent?
This is how we got into this mess - tolerate this, tolerate that, well now we are no longer tolerated by the ones we allowed to be tolerated. In fact, we are being walked upon, stomped upon, and being made to those who do not believe, a laughing stock.
Yet I do still tolerate these - and here is how I tolerate them ... For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever ever would believe in Him, can have, eternal life. So whether you are of another religion, another color - you too can have the same opportunity (really the only one) to believe God at His word.

Lawlessness. A deception to think some are elite better than others. Yet the real answer to your question is below - ignorance, rebellion, and a forsaking of God, His Word, His Truth, His principles. They wanted Burger King (have it your way - utopia) and God is allowing it. God gave them up. Why have those in heaven, when they don't want to be there, or anything to do with God?
      Romans 1:18-26
      18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
      28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but have pleasure in them that do them,
Jon preached on this not too long ago, but in today's battle, this should be etched into everyone who professes to be a Christian to give an answer when faced with foolish challengers and challenges.
Remember, Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Emotions are like a roller coaster, they cannot rule, they are unpredictable. Feelings are deceiving. We can have strong feelings about something or someone, only to be very disappointed when we find out otherwise or it was not as we thought it to be. Experience, is like the Midas Muffler commercial, you can take it to me now, or you can pay a lot more later, either way, subjective or not, you will have to come in contact with the reality of a living God, and in that, every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, only on this side of life, those who do are saved, and those on the other side of life past the grave, well you had 73 years, and can you tell me why you did not open your Bible, why you were too busy to pray, why you just didn't care for anyone else but yourself, your feelings, and what you thought to be right and good? I wouldn't want to be answering my Maker and be on the wrong side of that one. We all fall short, we do not earn our way to heaven by works, good deeds, or whatever errant doctrine. We get there believing Jesus died for our sins, confessing, agreeing with God, we are in need of a good washing.

There is no common ground. The world looks at things as grey and ambivalent. Those shun the absolutes of black and white, and standards to uphold. Sin has nothing in common with holiness. There is no middle ground. Either you are a sinner, or you are perfect and holy, and as far as we have seen only one man in history has been that, his name is Jesus Christ.

The issue at hand with the naysayers and truth destroyers is that they want to marginalize God. You cannot modify God. He is not a fraction, He is infinite, immortal. We are finite and mortal. He exceeds dimensions that cannot be understood unless He himself reveals them to us, which He does in the Bible, and in Jesus. When we try to break God down into palatable pieces we are the ones that stand shattered, in need, and are broken. He is alive and not contained even if there are those who attempt to conveniently put him in a box or on the shelf. I can ignore a changing traffic light or a stop sign, but that doesn't make it any less true, when the ticket comes, I have broken a very real (brittle or not, old or new) law that is going to cost me a fine or consequence. These are looking to escape an inevitable judgment, yet judge all others, which is hypocritical.

The truth tells you of what is not what is not.
If you have that within you and you pull it out it will save you, but if you do not have that within you it will kill you, so what is this that, that you should have within you, the truth.
If you have the truth within you and you pull it out it will save you, but if you do not have the truth within you it will kill you, because all you have within you is a lie, and the truth will put a lie to death every time.

2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that ~ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Since God is perfect, He is infallible. No comparison. Absolute, no measure. But for those of you looking for it in Scripture, here you go ...
Acts 1:3 ~ To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
Did you get that, Infallible Proofs ... those who want to know the truth, seek it. Those who do not believe, it is not because they cannot, it is as I used to tell my 4th graders, they will not (when it came to homework).

Schaeffer (1983) How then Shall We Live? was brilliant, way ahead of his time. Unfortunately, the churches have been asleep so long, that few heeded the alarms that are nowhere.
Jon brings up a good point, it's not like those within and among are going to say, oh hi, I'm a wolf or I'm a bad guy, Satan wants to fit right in.
Dr. Roach brings up a new one for me "brittle truth" (I guess when you follow their tries to put holes into long-held beliefs, they may feel it is patriarchal and antiquated) however, the Foundation is Christ, and He is the Solid Rock, He doesn't get old. When these rebellious stiff-necked critics die, the living God will still be as powerful as always. Alpha-Omega, before time was, He is.
These progressive evangelicals miss the boat, something they should have been taught well in Bible school. The Bible is not all about them (subjective) but all about Jesus. Asking for this opinion and that, well that is long, tiring, futile, and frankly unfruitful.

As long as mankind believes they have the ability to shift Yahweh’s plan, there will be unstable ground, built on what men think, say. The most unstable place is in a congregation that has changes in Yahweh’s plan for his children. Men/women complicate Yahweh’s plan.

Nothing wrong with baseball to go back to the basic fundamentals. It is in the simple but sure way to win the game. To me, all this over-analysis of the game has ruined it, just like it has culture. It has been said, those who do not learn from history - repeat it. The Bible says the same thing to us, THESE THINGS were WRITTEN for your example. Not just to look at and dismiss, they APPLY. All of the Word of God applies, all the time, to everyone who believes.

It is sad that Fuller wishes to be at the same table as Harvard who has forgotten the roots it was founded on. The seal at its entrance says VERITAS - meaning TRUTH. It is hard to find truth in a higher institution of learning that goes wayward from the teachings of God and the Bible. In other words, makes no sense, or has not even common sense.
Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Established in 1636 and named for its first benefactor, clergyman John Harvard, Harvard is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. and among the most prestigious in the world.
The seal of the Harvard Corporation found on Harvard diplomas. Christo et Ecclesiae ("For Christ and Church") is one of Harvard's several early mottos.
It trained many Puritan ministers in its early years[24] and offered a classic curriculum based on the English university model‍-‌many leaders in the colony had attended the University of Cambridge‍-‌but conformed to the tenets of Puritanism. Harvard has never affiliated with any particular denomination, though many of its earliest graduates went on to become clergymen in Congregational and Unitarian churches,
It is also sad that if a man is willing to give up his family and kids, just to be recognized in the spotlight of the public, yet not God, well James speaks to this. To him who knows to do right, yet goes ahead does wrong anyway, to him it is sin. Sin does not get winked at. Sin does not get a quick glance the other way, that's ok, don't mess up again. Sin has judgment. Sin has real consequences. When one forgets God, their legacy will also be forgotten soon after their departure from this world.
The problem with these Giant Pseudo-Intellectuals is they have too much time around the table for coffee, donuts, and to converse among themselves the latest this idea, or that idea, instead of what all men ought to be doing, spending time with God, and seeing if their idea lines up with God before spouting it out and sharing it. That is the problem with the million and one podcasts, radio and tv shows, and books. Way too much commentary of "opinion" with very little focus on God, and His Word. In such departures from the airport, should we be surprised we are now in a quarantine hyper-critical politically correct culture that is offended by everything but itself, especially of conservativism and good moral Christian value doctrine?
