It is a short walk to anywhere in the temple town with the temple located in the centre. A man directs me to Mitra Samaj on Car Street in charming Tulu Nadu. So with my nose in the air searching for a whiff of the crackling masala or earthy coconut, I go in search of Udupi sambar. Mitra Samaj was exactly how I had imagined it to be - small and dark with less than a century of history. Established in 1949.

visited the temple and the area last week. enjoyed the buns at mitra samaj. I wish they would let us jump in the pool in the summer, I'm sure the gods will be very happy about that. did you see the turtles in the pond?

I visited this hotel.
The golli bhaji and all the other dishes were not good at all.
The golli Bhaji tasted like over fermented vadas and very saltish.
The people of Udipi have started giving thumbs down for this hotel in recent years.
Wonder what tasted so good to you.

Authentic dosa's are made in this way
Mangalore Udupi Masala dosa's are made this way ,the main catch is with the sambhar which enhances the taste

Come & taste authentic masale dhose (not dosa) at Vidyarthi Bhavan & Dhose camp at Bengaluru. Too much hype in this video. Not worth to be world famous.
