I'm same age, about - and that song stopped me in my tracks too. I first heard it on some metal combo shortwave +AM radio that had to be thumped for it to work right at all. Great time for music. This guy is such an excellent guitarist. TY for the interview with him.

I remember watching Joe Jackson's "Rockpalast" (German TV show) performance, together with a few buddies of mine - some time in the early eighties: Everybody went "WHO'S THAT BASS PLAYER?"
