Ukraine has developed incredible drone technology.... now imitated (through direction from the Russians) by the Chinese. Developing battlefield conditions require Ukraine's drone tech to evolve with every development cycle, which can be a little as every few days. Improvement is continuous. Ukraine produced over 1M indigenous drones 2024.... and will triple that 2025. Ukraine has become a drone monster.
Parts like frames and propellers are easy to manufacture, and Ukraine has the capability to manufacture the motors. However, the electronics and software are another issue. Many of the flight controllers use common chips and there is no getting around this, and we see this with the American drones. The Ukrainians are using ExpressLRS which is open source and good old analogy video. It is simple, and easy to use. They are learning what works and how to overcome supply chain issues.
It is both. There are companies that source Chinese components and those that don't. It is all about price and resiliency, since Ukraine cannot depend on China
Ukraine excels. Period.
War puts Ukraine at the forefront of modern drone technology at CES. So make more wars. What a nasty headline and a channels!
