Edit: I was thinking, not dead but not sure he's alive (the king)... What if this is giving a hint of who prepared the attacks and everything? Like he left but we don't know if literally (like he's dead) or more like a smokescreen that was hiding some really dark stuff he didn't wanted anyone to know :o just theories
Edit 2: are we getting an injury comfort audio soon? I just feel like it would be an interesting turn to the story, you know, lil bit of stress to add some spice 😁
How did Sir Knight get away okay from that? He was first watch! And he obviously didn’t wake the captain for second, which means, no one was looking! That was extremely risky!

Some commotion for Captain Le'Chance please
So we finally learn about the king it makes me curious if perhaps these foes may not truely be foes? Faux foes? Oh but im also imagining some really nice angst of the prince stupid throwing himself to protect his knight? That would be very interesting since it could lead to the knight being very worried over the prince and demanding the other knights to cover him as he tries to quickly patch up the princes wounds and the captain telling us to take the prince back to the castle to be taken care of by one of the castle doctors but maybe as were heading back we're cut off by the leader who the prince seems tp vaguely reconize?
Or an alternative for the prince being hurt, it enrages us so deeply it unlocks some latent power in us that allows us to swiftly take care of the enemies but then leaves us drained (maybe this would be good if the prince isnt hurt too badly) and so once were out of the sort of power frenzy we fall to our knees and our dear beloved prince despite being injured rushes to our side.
Im not sure what kind of magic you have in your world building but it would be interesting if magic is practiced by some, or maybe is built in sort of a way with dnd in that magic is very commonplace. And if it is built in a way similar with dnd and commonplace magic then definitely have some headcanons to make:
Prince: Bard (obviously for his rizz and his unspoken desire with the knight)
Knight: Paladin or Fighter multiclass with Barbarian (for the rage)
Captain: Paladin
King: possibly Fighter or Barbarian (maybe multiclass since i am in love woth the king still being alive and maybe fighting for the othersode most likely for his own safety)
