Dear Jeff, Hello it's me Susan Morris From Boston On Sunday night Christmas Eve my choir and I are doing a cantata The sopranos and the second mezzo soprano s Which I am. Our singing ," let there be peace on earth" So my choir director wants me and my friend to do a crescendo at the end of the song then go down and blend the notes altogether. Jeff how do I do that? Listen carefully to one another and reconcile the differences between your vowel formations. If you both have good overall phonation this shouldn't be a huge issue. As for the crescendo, increase sub-glottic pressure (engagement/airflow) Best, Jeff
Dear Jeff, thank you as always. I try to do my warm ups daily. But I notice this little cracks in my voice when I'm at low or high pitch. How can I fix that...
Cracks are indications of imbalances. If you're trying to change something about your singing, that can be a good sign. An indicator that you are in fact doing something different. Otherwise, address your airflow in relation to your range and see if it can be better optimized. That often helps! Jeff

Please do a video for sopranos utilizing sirens, more control of notes going up and down the scale meaning breathing techniques, open larynx...

@@JeffRolka Jeff I'm bumming out. I was high soprano and my current instructor said that I'm now alto. And I thought to myself oh my God I'm going to have to sing like a guy? And he said no you got a beautiful voice an instrument that can make money I don't want to give you his name and place where he teaches but I wish there was a way I could work with you online to get your viewpoint. Yes I'm out of practice because of covit, but he said I have a hard time keeping a balance when I hit the high notes as I close up, but I do have a nice low register as well. He said he compared my voice to Celine Dion and she is alto? Is there a way that you can find my Facebook and text me privately. I would like to get your perspective of my voice. Is Alto supposed to sound like a man? He also compared me to have the ability of Whitney Houston. Apparently they sang Alto.???
