I really like the lack of drama. Many other channels would have had " Savanna bleeding out in the middle of the desert. I can't continue. Is this the end?"
I much prefer "Slight change of plans. Just nipping off on a 1000km detour for a bit of maintenence. Keep calm and carry on. Oh look Giraffes!" :-)

It's easy to take a nut from each wheel if needed in a pinch but the bolts on those are typically pressed into the rotor and a pretty big job to remove. Plus it seemed stripped out on the one giving them trouble but we can only speculate. EDIT: The bolts are actually studs to be clear.

tech tip for everyone driving their car in these remote places: if/when your bolts/nuts/wheel studs have stripped or damaged thread try to find a piece of electric wire inside the car. Strip the wire to get some of the copper strands out. Use those copper strands to wrap/wind around the damaged thread of the strut or bolt. Then screw the damaged bolt with the copper strands wound around it back in to fix the wheel.
The copper is a soft metal and will deform and fill the voids left when the steel threads got damaged. Don't over tighten the bolt or nut. But this temporary fix will get you to the next workshop.
This temporary fix also works for sparkplugs and oil pan plugs.
If you really want to be prepared for this kind of situation you could also put a rol of copper TAPE in your emergency tool kit just for situations like the red pickup truck had to deal with. The tape will do the same job.

Noraly, loving your vids and am now addicted to watching them. Some info for any future rides, if a fork seal starts to drip oil get a coke bottle and cut out a triangle piece about 2" long, push it down the fork tube point first into the seal and turn it around the seal a few times, this will remove any grit from the seal and make it last a bit longer.

The way to fix a situation like that where you have stripped wheel lugs is to remove each hub one-by-one and then, using a hammer, knock out one lug and then put the hub back on. That way, you end up with three good lugs on every wheel. Then you drive easy until you get to the next town where you can purchase new lugs with nuts and have a mechanic restore the three wheels with three lugs and replace all lugs in the wheel that had been damaged. It takes a lot of time when you're on the road like that to accomplish the job but it's effective. If you don't have a hammer, put a nut on the lug flush to the outside of the lug and use the lug wrench to knock the lug out. driving the lugs back in is easy. Probably the most difficult part is removing each hub in order to drive out the needed lug.

Surely some will criticize the fact that you did not fix the shock absorber before, but those who really travel by motorbike know that there are a thousand variables and things to keep under control. Especially if while traveling alone you are also working, telling and filming everything. And often it is not possible to bring everything you need to fix everything. You also stopped to help those people in the car 👏 unfortunately not everyone does. You are a great inspiration and it is wonderful to see how you face every little or big difficulty with a smile and with the desire to move forward no matter what, and above all regardless of what others may think. 💪
