@@latintraveler1152 Two points: First, the Mets did offer Pete an extension opportunity for him to stay a Met and he probably ends a lifetime Met. He turned it down and underperformed. Second, the Mets are under new ownership. So there is no way Steve would let Pete leave had he been consistently Pete from year one or year 4 (notice the separation in years) then we sign him up no problem. No other team would out bid Cohen. So “Hero” is a super lose term. Yeah he had one super clutch at bat. Does not mean we need over pay for a declining bat. It’s just good business.
