After they had discussed it one day he had wished he had recorded it so when he did this new album he decided to ask Em to talk about some of the thing's he had told him. Exactly. He competes with himself. So it’s really silly for people to be saying “he’s not as good as so and so,” or “he’s not as good us this legend or that legend.” Because if they knew anything about Em, they’ll know that he only ever focuses on being better than himself. That’s how he can pay so much homage to the greats and not hate on them. Meanwhile, a lot of younger rappers seem to make it a trend to diss the legends to prove themselves. Wrong way to go about it, imo.

Running track is a perfect analogy. I have come to appreciate him much more as he's aged and honed his skills even more. I've listened to some unbelievable poets and wordsmiths....I.e. Rakim, Cube, KRS. Em is unique though. He runs double entendre's all the time. You have to play it back to make sure what you heard was indeed what he said. My boy hates Eminem. I always tell him, throw on the last verse of "Not Afriad" if you can't appreciate that. I don't know what to tell you.
