Very good comparison man, thank you for putting this up. Love that it's the same take recorded by both mics at the same time so a proper comparison can be done. And keeping it blind is also spot on. In case you're interested, at the very start I was thinking Mic B sounded thinner but soon after I reframed that difference in my head as Mic B sounding more detailed so was very much expecting that to be the more expensive one yet it wasn't. How do you find it since you're actually using them on lots of material? Is the brightness of the 57 exaggerated and the 7b is more natural? Or is the cheaper mic actually more detailed?

I do like the SM7b for rejection of other sources when recording live, it doesn't allow much bleed which is very nice. I'd say the 7b is a bit more natural and full while the SM57 has a very detailed mid range, I think it just depends on the source.
