Your new hair is lovely. I tend to keep mine short with longer layers on top so I can curl the top. I trim my bangs and layers myself until I can't make it look better. Then I see my stylist, but I do my own color and I keep about 5 different shades which I use randomly about every 5-7 weeks. Ann
Thanks for taking us with you to your hairdresser. I find it really difficult to find someone who can manage my hair let alone cut it. I feel hair is an investment you wear it every day so you should seek out a hairdresser that has lots of experience and that sometimes means opting for an older person🤣🤣 normally the manager of the salon….
This was a great video! The women on my Mother's side of the family have thinning hair as they age. Noticing this, y decided to make sure I ate healthy food and took EXTRA steps to destress to help my hair stay fresh and youthful. I color my hair quite often and I use a root color spray to hide the areas to give the appearance of fuller hair. Love your style!!!!
Your hair looks great Deirdre, I'm 55 but my hair is still really thick, wish it was a little thinner tbh! Btw, see you are in Bournemouth, I'm a Dorset girl too, living in Wimborne.
HI Kim. Great to meet a lady from my local area. I actually live in Broadstone, not quite Bournemouth, so that's even closer to you! It would be lovely to be in touch and meet up. Please feel free to email me on myfriend.deirdre@gmail.com.
On catch up Deirdre as a new subscriber. Loved this video. Your hair looked fabulous. I used to go to Toni and guy in Thurrock but the branch closed so now I go to a lovely little salon in Epping. It’s just for a trim as my hair is about your length and I just use a blond rinse on it myself as it’s got quite white as I’ve got older and the light rinse just takes that off. I like long hair on older people as well as young…I’d never cut mine..my husband loves it all back in a French plait which I do on the second day after washing…first day I wear it down. 🌸
In my case HRT Estrodot 75 my hair stopped thinning it was no longer like chicken wire. Its as soft as a baby's but Menopause screws up the whole body including the hair nails everything
How good was he to do this .. so useful .. I have long darker hair but naturally blonde.. wondering whether to head back towards blonde as felt more glam with my Blonde hair.. the shaggy comment gave me a laugh 😂..
He’s a brilliant hairdresser. I’ve been going to him for quite a long time. He knows his stuff. I think that’s the key really. Every girl needs a great hairdresser to give good advice. X
Hi Anne. Thanks so much for your question. I haven't actually got one on skin care but it's definitely something I'm working on and it's on my list for future videos. Thanks again. X
Good to hear a professional opinion. I think it’s always good to start with keeping your scalp healthy. Too much product creates a build up so it’s good to regularly use a scalp treatment or scrub to help with that. My favourite is the Christophe Robin brand. It’s a bit pricey but very good. ❤️
With the photos that were being shown of shorter hair and more brown undertones added, I thought that was what you were going for. I think it would look very fresh and stylish on you! I love your channel and your enthusiasm. You have a very sweet personality Deirdre. Lot of love to you as well. P.S. I wear my hair short and have it highlighted. For me ,personally, long hair doesn't doesn't do much for me.
Hi Peggy. Thanks so much for your comments. I really appreciate them and maybe I should, indeed, think about going shorter (and browner!). Take care. XX
@@50FabulouswithMyFriendDeirdre Hi, I am off the Magna Road on your way towards Merley or Wimborne. I was so excited when I saw you were local. Well done to you for your channel. Mine is very small and is all about corporate sustainaibility. Ha ha. Not as sexy as yours. Or as glamorous as you are!!
@@loopielou4426 that’s wonderful that you are so close. It would be lovely to meet up. You’re obviously more of an executive than me!! How about catching up when the weather improves and we don’t have to wear masks everywhere?! Take care. Xx
As usual, Dierdre, you look stunning in your yellow blazer and fresh highlights! I keep my hair long, too, about 2 inches shorter than yours and layered somewhat; it's an auburn shade. My natural shade is dark brown, so as I've become older, the lighter shade is more flattering to my fair skin. I love having long hair at 64; it's healthy, thick, and bouncy. It suits my heart-shaped face. Natalia
No, the hairdresser uses specialist products and not harsh bleach. This hairdresser’s is internationally recognised as one of the best and they’re very expert. Thanks for watching and commenting dear xxx
I let my hair go natural last year during Lockdown. I’m grey with a short sassy haircut. Best decision I ever made for myself. I think color or not, a great haircut is the best thing a woman can do for herself If a person has the same exact cut for 4 or 5 years for goodness sake. Change it up!!!
Love the idea of this video ; I could barely understand him because of The mask/shield combo. Would love to see a remake when he’s not required to wear all that gear. I could understand you, however.
Hi Theresa. That’s exactly what I plan to do. Have you turned on the subtitles as they can help? I will be making another video with him as soon as we don’t have to wear masks!! Xx
I totally agree with you Susan. The music was a real problem for our filming but unfortunately Toni and Guy needed it on for their clients. You’re not getting old, by the way!! Xx
I'd love to hear what your favourite hairstyle is, one which you feel happy and comfortable wearing. Share below! Lots of love ♥ ♥ ♥
Love your channel! Love your look and style! You’re gorgeous 👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰

I agree with you, Happy Bunny. Ali is the manager and I think that also says a lot about how good someone is as a hairdresser too. XX

Yes, I know, MsGlamazon. It’s a horrendous thing. Every day can feel like a battle against the menopause. Xx

Dear Deirdre I would like to ask, is not this degree of blond harsh on hair and scalp especially if one dyes the roots very often ?

Watch all your videos but had to turn this one off . I did not understand one word of the hairdresser. You may need to do this one again. Thank you
Sorry about that. It was during Covid and we all had to wear masks which is really difficult. Xx
