Teddy Stoyanova you have neatly summed up Mr Cleaver's great skill of simplifying and make everything concise enough to retain and yet sufficiently in depth to delve!
I think it's time they open the 'Marcus Cleaver' no nonsense law school, we would all graduate in 5 months with top grades haha. You are so amazing!!! You have made exam revision bearable and so much easier than the complex way my lectures makes it. Thanks Marcus aka Sheldon! haha :)) xxx
I hope that all good things come your way Marcus Cleaver. You are a man of great generosity, knowledge, and kindness simplifying the law in areas that some of us find difficult. EU law has not been kind to me so far, but I am going to keep watching your videos until it sinks in. Thank you, Marcus - you the man !
you are an absolute donny mate! you've condensed the inaccessible waffle that my lecturers have been dishing out all term into something easy to understand. thank you
Marcus, I wish you were my lecturer lol, really enjoyed your style as opposed to my boring lecturer at Uni. If I pass my EU trade law exam, full credit will go to you mate.
Teaching is a skill. I wished more universities understood that. My lecturers have the knowledge but they don't have the skill required to relay that information to us in a way that we understand. You have that skill. Thank you.
Hi Marcus. I absolutely love your videos. I have been studying the GDL for less than two months and have become a firm follower of your tutorials and lectures. The way you explain the concepts is so simplified and helps me no end. Please carry on making videos on key parts of the various modules because you're fantastic!
I’am law student on 4th course and we learn EU economics law discipline , so as I read comments, I thought I’am the only one who get more questions than answers, but anyway thank you for giving me more food to thinking about!!!)
Funny how the whole semester I could not understand anything my lecturer was trying to teach us and looking at 3 of your videos I feel like I could smash my exam
Hey Marcus, thanks for this. I'm doing the i-GDL and we get minimal lectures and seminars and really struggled so far with FMoW, but this has cleared things up for me! Thanks again
Are you able to explain more about the development of the concept of EU citizenship? I understand that Directive 2004/38 consolidated other legislation relating to free movement of persons but there seem to be so many cases that it's difficult to spot which CJEU judgement's had the most significant impacts on the development.
Would be great if you could write down the info that's on the slides in the decription box, just makes it easier for note taking. Either way, I love your videos and everything just makes sense!
Perfect! I have written down the content of the slides for EU Art 30, 34, 35, 36 and 45 into a word doc if you want to save yourself some time, I can send them to you. Also, thank you for probably saving me from failing :)
Hi Marcus, are EU citizens accepting a job offer in another Member State also covered by EU law.. Because it's a bit confusinf if they fall under the category of a worker as they haven't been paid yet.
Hi Marcus - thanks so much for this video! I have a bit of a unique circumstance and was curious what your thoughts were. Here is the situation I'm a dual citizen (USA and Luxembourg) and currently live in the U.S. I have been inquiring with my employer about working remotely within an EU country. Would I be able to live in any EU country with Passport Luxembourg documentation? (Let's say I want to live in Hamburg, Germany and my work is remote/online in Amsterdam) I know you mentioned needing proof of work to register after 3 months - does this work/employment have to originate in the country of residence (Germany in my example)? Or can I simply prove that I have income from somewhere and the means to support myself? If the above situation isn't possible, I suppose I could get part-time work on the weekends, as you mentioned, to submit as proof of work. Then could continue working my other career job remotely during the week.
Thanks Marcuscleaver..... Your explanation is very clear but I have a doubt concerning the Right to be a citizen after 5 years. Does it apply only for member states??
If you are a TCN (third country national) other rules will apply. But if you are a TCN and are a family member of a Union citizen you will pretty much have the same rights as them. You can find the definition of family in the Citizens Directive 2004/38 Article 2
Great video! Do work seekers have the same rights as workers? And would their family members be able to claim social and tax advantages if the person they have come with is only a worker seeker?
This is great, thank you. Only critizism that I have is that for time to time I wasn't sure if you are talking about TFEU or some directive (slide at 5:41). And also it could be clearer to put the article on the slide when you are talking about it.
This is good but is it mainly applied to EU national? What about Non-Eu Nationals and their right to free movement, are they covered? Also what about the spouse/children (Non-eu nationals)?
+simran naseer Art 45 only applies to nationals from countries with an agreement with the EU. I've been meaning to put an annotation into the video about family members. Will try tomorrow.
Please do. Although this was extremely helpful, but when applying it to scenarios it becomes difficult as you know a lot of the problem questions for this topic have individuals who are either EU Nationals, or Non-EU National's Spouse. Sometimes the EU national has dual Nationality and sometimes there is a child involved as well and then it definitely becomes difficult to grasp the topic but overall you have honestly made law so much more enjoyable for all the law students! your videos are very much appreciated. Thank You. Please do Parliamentary Supremacy as well if you can.
Hi this is such a good video, i have few question regarding to freedom of good, worker and establishment. Would you mind if i email you the questions? Thanks!
For less than 15 minutes you succeeded in explaining me that material better than my EU professor for the whole semester. THANK YOU!
+Teddy Stoyanova haha thank you for taking the time to comment!
Teddy Stoyanova you have neatly summed up Mr Cleaver's great skill of simplifying and make everything concise enough to retain and yet sufficiently in depth to delve!
So true! lol!

+Anna Goodfellow lol thank you for taking the time to comment!

I've done that for more recent stuff (because for me it attracts more views too!) but haven't had a chance yet to go back and fill in the older ones.
Perfect! I have written down the content of the slides for EU Art 30, 34, 35, 36 and 45 into a word doc if you want to save yourself some time, I can send them to you. Also, thank you for probably saving me from failing :)

Love it mate, great lecture
Hi Marcus, do you have any other videos where you delve in the rights which family members hold under Directive 2011/38? Thanks!
Hi Marcus - thanks so much for this video! I have a bit of a unique circumstance and was curious what your thoughts were. Here is the situation

+Lara Micallef Thanks Lara :)
Should Brexit occur what will be the legal consequences in article 45 TFEU between the UK and EU?
Very much depends on the deal that is struck between the UK and the EU. Hard Brexit or soft Brexit?
Hard Brexit. I don't for see soft Brexit happening knowing the reason for the referendum.
You freaking babe! Thanks
Ta :)
Thank you, byeeeeeeeeeeeeee x
Spectacular video, keep up the good work brother! --> Subscribed
Hi! Could you spare some time on citizenship
