- Hello my Friends! I have noticed this pattern catching my eye from time to time and
thought I would check into it. All I could really find is that it is called Cornelli Lace
and it is prevalent in the ‘cake decorating scene’. Hahaha, Perfect! 😂 It is such a cool pattern!
I wish I knew more of its history. Like, Who is this Cornelli? A lace maker? A pastry chef?
….it’s a mystery! 😄
Hope you all enjoy!
Cheers- Robin 🤗🌹🌹✨ Хобби
I am a self taught glass blower that learns by watching RUclips and any Other artists around me. Your channel has been a real resource for me. Thank you
Very cool. Two for one. Hollow bead and Cornelli Lace. Thanks again for a great video.
Hi Linda! Thanks so much! 🌹 These look so cool with several in a small dish. They are fun to play with too! 😁 Cheers! R- 🌹🤗✨👋🏽✨✨
Magical :) I love these black&white series.
Hi Beza! I just noticed you comment! 🤗 Thank you so much!! Hugs- Robin 👋🏽💫✨🌹🌹
I got my hand crushed in a work injury at a job site and I have a little trouble with my hands too but just like you I don't let it stop me.😁🖐👈👍
Hello Trouble! It is amazing that we now have the technology to be able to learn something that has been shrouded in secrecy for so long…and to connect with people worldwide who share the same interest!
Hearing about your injury is heartbreaking. It sounds like you have come a long way to be able to flamework! That is incredible! I know a good handful of people that have been injured and been able to get back to a place where the can continue to grow as artists & create things they never thought possible.
Thank you so much for sharing! It means more to me than you know! 🌹🤗✨✨✨ Robin- 🙏🏽👋🏽🌹🌹
One of my favourite. Love it. Soooo cool 😎
That makes me so happy!! 😍 Thanks so much, Lena! Hope your doing well! ✨ R- 🌹✨🌹✨👋🏽
I love it
Thanks so much Cyphermunk! 😄👋🏽🌹 R- 💫
Hi from Australia, I'm so loving your demo's. I'm just starting with lampworking. Cornelli Lace pattern was used on bedcovers in the 1950-1960 and also is a quilting stitch.
Hello Maryann! I am so glad that you stumbled onto our RUclips channel! 🤗 I hope you find some helpful info here to build upon your flameworking journey! Thank you so much for the Cornelli lace information…I just love the pattern! If you ever need any help on anything…I’m here for you!!
Take Care Maryann! Thanks again- Robin 👋🏽🌹🌹🎊✨💫🌹
@@scottwoodresearch Thank you so much Robin
Lovely. Not sure why you need to wrap in clear rather than just white. Thanks Robin.
Hello Vicki! ✨🌹 Thanks! I love this pattern so much! 🤗 I put clear around the white so it doesn’t melt and spread out over the black and the white can melt very fast. In the end it’s just personal preference really! 😅✨ It also looks very different without the clear coat!🌈 Glad you enjoyed!!
🌹✨Cheers to you - Robin✨🌹✨
In fabric the technique is called chesca cornelli lace, I think :) Thank you so much! ❤️
I’ll have to check that out! Thanks Susanne!!😅🌹✨💫
That's nuts that you can make a hollow object with no openings and not have it create a vacuum in the piece. Maybe the coating on the mandrel allows some oxygen through? Crazy
i wonder if this Cornelli lace pattern is related to some other meandering designs found throughout Europe (think Greek key design, or Ukrainian pysanky eggs) that are meant to trap evil spirits by causing them to wander for eternity along a path with no beginning and no end? i love your videos by the way, and the ones with an historical component even more. thanks for sharing your expertise!
Hello Ariel! 👋🏽✨✨ I’m so glad you enjoyed this demo! There are so many beautiful patterns with a special history behind them. I love your description of the Cornelli pattern ‘eternally trapping evil spirits’ 😃 That’s awesome!! I love patterns and their origin stories….History is fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing! 🌹 Cheers- Robin ✨🌹✨
another great one! do you think you could do a video on a bead using the implosion technique?
Hey Enrico! I am still working on the implosion bead…. 😂 quality takes time! 😂 soon I hope!! R- ✨✨
@@scottwoodresearch looking forward to it. you’ll probably do it well. i think you start with dots. lol.
Hahaha 😂 I think you are correct! 😂 👍🏽💫
