Considering how the muppet babies were very difficult to operate because they're so small, yet so ADORABLE, I can see one of the reasons why Jim Henson decided to make them an animated show rather than live action. But the cartoon show turned out to be very successful and even won awards! It was always one of my favorites as a kid.
I really wish Jim was still alive. They are doing a good job with the Muppets today but it just isn't the same. I don't like the way they've updated the puppets either. The best version of Piggy was the one in the 80s where she sported a perm. lol. I was only 1 when Jim died and even though I was around for a year, I was too young to remember any of his work from 1989-1990. They should've included this as a featurette on the dvd. I love behind the scenes stuff. And yeah Muppet Babies worked better as a cartoon than a live-action series. And good idea to let Frank Oz direct because Jim had a ton of work to do--Muppets Take Manhattan, working on the first season of Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock and then taping season 15 of Sesame Street at around the same time as the filming of this movie. I'm sure that on their downtime, Jim, Frank, Jerry and Richard had to go to the studio in Queens to tape their SS segments.
That is so cool that they use remote control to operate Kermit in that one scene. I've always wondered why the puppeteer isn't seen when the character's full body is seen.
Don't conciser themselves singers? They're as great as the professional singers imo! I love watching them doing their voices like this, really fun to see. I wish I could've been apart of the original Muppet team. I need a time machine, badly. That's the one thing I want most... XD
From the director of Little shop of horrors, Dirty rotten scoundrels, What about Bob, Bowfinger and the British version of Death at a funeral, all of which came after this.
Coming soon a new Osmond movie ever join the Osmond family in Manhattan in the Osmonds take Manhattan!!!! The movie coming March 23rd filming starts February
I just love Kermit and Piggy singing a romantic duet together... and imagining the two old hippies beneath them singing to each other. lol

A genius mr henson. He created an universe from his imagination.
Of all the muppet movies, my 2 favorite ones are this one and of course, the muppets adaption of the classic Charles Dickens book" A Christmas carol".
Frank oz may have been difficult on set, but man did he nail being the director
absolute gold. creativity, masterful art, and joy.
"Hey, I love your hair! Don't ever touch it!"
😂🤣
Creased me up as a little kid!
Bopo Lenny socko Lenny! 😂 Ooop I think I hear my beeper.
5:13 Definitely the most important scene a pig and a frog have had in any movie.
This should have been on the film's blu-ray release or DVD.
4K maybe?
3:26 That’s a deleted song from the movie, particularly an early version of “Somebody’s Getting Married”.
They were supposed to include the singing food in the wedding scene but they cut it
Jim Henson was a fucking genius
ghetty He sure was. He brought to life a whole bunch of characters. And The Muppets kick so much ass!
@@michaelfrazierjr3108 And even though he didn't consider himself a singer, I thought he had a wonderful singing voice
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie!!
RIP Kermit the Frog, Rowlf the Dog and Dr. Teeth (1936-1990)
You mean RIP their old muppeteer.
@@bradyanderson6311 That's him I was referring to.

Cute movie! I saw it the other day, & I needless to say, loved it.
Let's go behind the scenes.
R.I.P JIM HENSON HE WILL BE MISSED
Easily fake. Besides, Papyrus wouldn't say that.
NYEHHHHHHHEHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEHHH
Sure will
I remember he died the same day as Sammy Davis Jr.
Jim Henson was amazing
Jim Henson what genius you were. God you are so terribly missed!
That movie was released in theaters by TriStar Pictures on July 13, 1984.
I wanna know how they got the part where Kermit got strucked by a passing car?

If you listen closely, you can tell that Piggy and Grover have the same voice.
It's because Frank Oz is the puppeteer of miss piggy, fozzie bear, animal, sam eagle, bert, cookie monster, and grover
The Muppets Take Manhattan 🗽 (1984) is Rated G in blue. 💙
The Muppets Take Manhattan 🗽 (1984) is owned by Tri-Star Pictures 🐴🪽 & Jim Henson Productions. 💙
if they got another DVD release they would put this on a bonus feature.
Damn it explain the bikes
4:37 Was it?
5:10 : Oz let a little bit of YODA overtake Peggy's voice :-D
Jim Henson Is Behind Kermit The Frog And Rowlf The Dog And Dr Teeth
Were the Muppet babies any harder to operate than Robin the Frog?
Stephen Treadwell No.
up last weekend; got to thinking of this movie! (not to mention I was in NY for a wedding)
They should've included the church scene in this.
tak and the power of juju take manhattan from tristar pictures a sony pictures entertainment and jim henson pictures
Jim Henson Is Missed When He Made The Muppets
how come the church scene wasn't in this? I would have loved to see all the performers singing.
Muppet the baby is cute 😆
Fantastic!
Rip Jim you did well with the muppets and dark c. Other stuff but his voice did good he created them

1:43-1:51 That is so cool how they do that
Where's Skeeter?
Skeeter never materialized in puppet form. Only on Muppet Babies and comics.
muppetsstoogesfan1 that's stupid! They haz lots of money to make that muppet
@@muppetsstoogesfan1 If Skeeter were materialized in puppet form, she would have been performed by Jim Henson.
It was this scene that inspired the Muppet Babies cartoon show which Skeeter was created for so of course she wouldn’t be in this movie.
😅😅😅😅
I have this movie
Me too
