Great Outback Beer Run

After a decade in Europe racing in the pro peloton, Mitch Docker has moved back to his Australian homeland. Mitch and his old mate Alby Iacuone head out to explore Down Under’s wild interior combining their two great loves; bikes and beer!
Retracing the steps of Victorian explorers on fully loaded gravel bikes, Mitch and Alby ride through some of Australia’s most remote regions stopping off at iconic bush pubs. They’ll be meeting locals whose lives centre around these classic boozers, encountering exotic wildlife, and exploring the outback in all its raw, untouched beauty.

Their goal is to reach the very heart of Australia where the great states of New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia meet. Can they make it through nearly 500km of dirt paths and gnarly trails through unforgiving desert in just four days?

There's a cycling route in the Czech Republic called Radegast Cyclo Track which is about 40 km long with 40 bars and restaurants serving Radegast beer (I don't remember the exact number, but you'll get the general idea). I've always wanted to do this rout in one go and have a beer in each of these bars and restaurants but unfortunately I couldn't find a brave enough companion 😂

Really enjoyed this. Do wonder whether the emphasis on beer and the amount consumed is wise. Also, feel a little mention of the Aboriginals, native people of Australia 🇦🇺, and the effects the settlers had on them, would have been nice. Seems a very typical while man’s view of Australia.
