- In this video I'm in Pescocostanzo, an Italian town in the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo, at the Collegiate Basilica of Santa Maria del Colle. Pescocostanzo is part of the Majella National Park and one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with the presence of its own ski resort.
The ancient Collegiate Church of Santa Maria del Colle is one of the most interesting churches in Abruzzo. It stands on a pre-existing 11th century cult site and was rebuilt in 1466 with a 5-nave configuration, after the 1456 earthquake. The variety of shapes, furnishings, materials and structures that have stratified in the building over the centuries make it a museum full of works of art. It is accessed from the spectacular staircase (1580) which goes to the side entrance with a portal in late Romanesque style (15th century). On the front facade there is a Renaissance portal. The environment has Romanesque-Renaissance architecture, with stone pillars and arches. The 5 large ships are covered by stupendous coffered ceilings in carved wood: the central one and the two intermediate ones are stuccoed in gold and frame valuable canvases. On the left is the baptistery with baptismal font (18th century) in marble inlay. Santo di Rocco is responsible for the gate of the Chapel of the SS. Sacramento, built between 1699 and 1705 and finished by his nephew in 1717: the most famous piece in the Basilica. On the counter-façade wall is the choir loft by Bartolomeo Balcone (1619), who also designed the wooden pulpit that wraps around one of the pillars of the central nave. All around are distributed stupendous altars in stone, wood and marble from the 15th-18th centuries, made by masters from fish. At the end of the median nave on the right, the seventeenth-century altar of the Madonna del Colle stands out with the polychrome wooden statue of the Madonna (13th century), a rare example of medieval art from Abruzzo.
The bell tower hosts a concert of various bells of which unfortunately I do not know the data with the exception of some (visible in the video) which are recasts of the Marinelli Pontifical Foundry in Agnone. The confirmed bells are 5 of which the bell and 2 ringing bells on the windows, a fixed bell on the back and a mobile bell inside the spire.
In the video we see the ringing for the festive Holy Mass at 12:15 repeated 3 times (45, 30 and 15 minutes before) with the expanse of 2 bells (one facing and one inside the spire).

Questa Collegiata è sicuramente una delle più belle d'Abruzzo. Purtroppo devo sintetizzare i montaggi altrimenti non ne vengo più fuori. Per ogni chiesa raccolgo così tanto materiale che poi mi rimane complicato elaborare 😅

Quanto lo aspettavo questo video! Bellissime queste 😍😍. il campanone è un Re3 calante che sembra una campana molto bella. Chi potrebbe averle fuse queste secondo te?

Prossima volta che ho modo di andarci ci mando il drone così si scopre il fonditore. Il Parroco purtroppo non fà salire sul campanile.

Grazie mille Matteo. 😊 Purtroppo la programmazione è molto deludente poiché non sono comprese molte campane e l'unica cosa che potrei pensare è che la campana a distesa che non suona sia guasta. Il campanone, da quel che sò, suona sempre e solo da solo per le feste patronali.
