I went wireless just to try it at first.
Though you do need to recharge every few days, I really do enjoy the "free" feeling.
Now, I have a full wireless set.
Unless you have the Logitech G Pro Superlight... I charge that bad boy every 2-3 weeks. If you are still using wired mouse and headset in 2022 you are missing out. 😂
@@BM24DK My g903 hero lasts sooo long, literally only have to charge it once every 3-4 months
@@BM24DK the thing is most wireless headphones are just worse than wired ones, also your G Pro Superlight's batteries not going to be lasting that long in five years, AA mouse's don't have this problem.
i just bought one with extra replaceable battery... the battery can be charge on type c or you can just connect the type c to the mouse
The biggest thing with wired vs wireless that should have been talked about much more in this video, is weight. I'm a very competitive gamer, and like everyone, I hate wires.. So obvious choice for me was to go wireless. I bought some wireless mouse a few years ago, and with all the weights out, it weight made me very un-confident when aiming. So if anyone is considering wireless mice, check the weight of whatever mouse you like most. There are very light wireless mice now, but they're more expensive.
upgraded to wireless recently and I must admit they got really far, I didn't notice any performance difference and the AA battery's last forever. Having said that I still concluded that having a wire didn't bother me at all so now I just use the wireless one for my laptop.
What wireless mouse did you get?
"upgraded to wireless" um... Ok.
@@randomrainbow8423 response time is irrelevant as they're so close. The only real downside to wireless is pricing, and in return you never have to worry about a wire fucking up your aim again. 100% an upgrade.
Always go wireless for mice these days. My G305 still going strong without any trouble and the battery life is insanely long with AA battery. Tried lighter mouse with in-built battery yet I always comeback to ol' reliable G305.
G703 Light for the win!
I have to charge it every 10 days more or less, but it's not a big deal, charge it during the night, no problem.
Using AAA battery on mine. Haven't change the battery in the last 3 months lol
That slide into ad spot + chuckle 10/10. Also loved the marketing greyed out “terrible situation”. Regarding the vid g pro wireless and no looking or going back. It’s amazing and expensive, would’ve bought the super light in a heartbeat had it been a type c connector DAMN YOU LOGITECH! Please keep the way you do ads/sponsors literally the only ones I watch on RUclips.
Note with wireless on bluetooth. I notice when I am running heavy applications (video edit, hard to run game) the mouse movement on bluetooth becomes inconsistent and skips around, whereas when I plug the USB-C cable in even during the computer lagging the mouse still moves around smoothly. Guess it's to do with USB mouse being more fundamental part of computer so gets priority over other stuff, whereas bluetooth isn't so gets laggy with computer.
Bluetooth in windows is shit :)
I never have problems with a dongle and 2.4GHz tho
Always love your reviews that stay true to the product rather than becoming a fan boy review like other reviews. Keep making great content!
I really wish more companies would add tilt scrolling to the wheel. It's so useful to have those extra buttons available in game
Logitech is supposedly releasing their G502 X Plus Q2-Q3 2022.
Wireless, around 85g, USB-C, infinity scroll, tilt scroll, tons of buttons.
dude im watching all your videos, best reviews!!!
Went from Logitech G502 after 7 years to Basilisk Hyperspeed (wireless). I wanted a wireless G502 but that thing is insanely over priced (for mouse and charger) I also wanted something 'new' feeling after so many years.
I than seen the basilisk and thought it was close enough to the G502 to buy it. Paid $35 I miss the few extra buttons but I've been more or less pleased with the mouse. A few issues of it not waking after going to rest from inactivity but beyond a minor annoyance in the moment I've not much cared about that.
Bought a 4 pack of rechargeable lithium batteries and I'm set, honestly not noticed any increase in latency at all I mean in the 4 months I've owned it so far.
A big feature to consider: hot-swappable switches. If you've had to deal with double-clicking and issues dragging something, you've dealt with a bad switch for the buttons. Without hot-swappable design, you'd have to physically unscrew and unsolder the switch from the mouse's PCB. Asus mice are an easy no-brainer as far as durability and heavy usage goes.
This is the reason why I went with Keris Wireless. I hope more models and brands follow suit.
Wait these mice have hotswap switches ?
@@cyntax4046 Asus has a patent on it unfortunately.
@@supersop1367 you can use millmax sockets
Yeah but Asus also pulled a asshole move, and patented hot swapping for mouse switches so no other company can use it now.
I've been completely wireless for years. Partly because I have young cats, the aesthetic, and that I need to clear my desk for things either to put a notebook or big binder on it or to tinker with stuff like guns and stuff from time to time. Being able to freely move my mouse and keyboard wherever I need to to make room is pretty big. If you're going wired I would at least recommend getting peripherals that can unplug from the cable.
Lol as a European it's always so surprising when guns are mentioned in everyday situations. The sentence "I just gotta clear my gaming setup so I can clean my gun" have probably never been uttered in my native language, even though we have quite about we have about a third the amount of guns per capita (a lot for most countries except USA) it's just not treated the same way.
Whuuuut. Will be doing a review for the tuf m4 also that they sent me. So far I'm liking the air for shooter games. So dang fast.
Haven't had any trouble with wireless since I switched to the Viper Ultimate, + while I didn't think I would end up needing a "longer range" (i.e. no cables), I eventually did and am glad I went wireless.
Can u make a vid on the best gaming mice in different price points
What do you think about the new hyperx pulsefire haste wireless? It's crazy that it just weights 61g, just 2g heavier than its wired honeycomb counterpart. I rarely unplug my current wireless mouse anymore as I don't feel much of a difference with those braided cables anyway. It also has no bluetooth, so I could go with the wired one, but I got a pretty good preorder deal, so just in case :)
my man sponsored transition is hella smooth goddamnnn
I can see the vein on your biceps slowly popping out, Dmitry. Great to see a fellow tech geek also improving his shape. Keep on lifting, mate.
I for one am quite the fan of those holes you get with lightweight mice. Veery slightly for the grip, though they do feel grippier thanks to the holes, but my biggest argument here is the open feel they give. My hands get sweaty as hell and I can really feel the difference on my mm710. And I do have other comparisons. Got a pink EC2B, which is probably the worst offender due to the shiny case, an mm720, a Viper mini and Zy's MZ1. And well, while the 720 does have holes they are a lot smaller and the sides are closed off completely, so my hands still heat up using it. Well also have the Deathadder mini but that's just silly. Only got it since it was really damn cheap. Heh. Anyway, case in point I keep returning to the 710 since it's just the best shape for my hand, and since I can use it for a long time. And just to hammer this home, all (but the deathadder) were given the 2 week treatment.
I switched from a wired Model O to a wireless Model O, very surprised that there is basically no difference! Wireless is better for on-the-go and to connect to multiple devices.
I have gotten so used to MMO mice that I'd hate to have to retrain my muscle memory for actually using the numbers on the keyboard. I wish there were more options for those.
Biggest reason to go wired? Avoiding drivers and software from OEMs and something that will *always* work
No need to install drivers or software for wireless mice. Wireless are just as reliable. Besides you only need to replace battery, or charge it for a few min, while you eat, or sleep maybe once every few months. Battery life is incredibly good.
I see no reason to go wired except maybe cost, but even so, great wireless mice aren’t that expensive, unless you for the best of the best.
@@Aikano9 No reason to explain, some people still buy CDs instead of going digital.... Just saying haha 😂
I like the idea of the mesh back mice as my mouse hand seems to be the warmest part of my body while gaming. I am really hoping they will soon include an internal fan as there seems to be plenty room in the mesh design, maybe a 30-40mm fan would fit. Obviously it would add weight, but not enough to outweigh the benefit for a gamer like me. Anyone else suffer from sweaty mouse hand?
I just changed to a ROG Chakram wirless and there's no difference between a wired and wireless mouse in terms of performance, but i got the beneficials of not having a cable at every moment and even if i needed it, it can be charged?used with one cable, so it-s the best of both worlds. I even went with the ROG Balteus Qi to charge my mouse when i'm playing with a controller or going out to eat, so it charges right next to my setup eliminating the need for a cable for my wireless mouse.
I would prefer wired, but my desk is massive and my pc is on the other end of the desk, the length of the wired mice these days is just too short, but I do like the weight reduction of wireless mice.
That battery adapter is a dope idea
7:10 man, that laugh kills me. Lmao
Are mouse prices going up cuz idk y a g203 is now going for more than 20 bucks.
Is th pulsefire haste wireless review and comparo comping out soon?
I don't mind wire mice when in my hand, tbh can't really tell that much of a difference with drag.
BUT
I hate visually seeing a cable on my desk it bothers me so much for some reason.
So I go for wireless keyboards and mice.
All I want is a mouse that works, has scroll wheel and is 20 cm long, 10-11 cm wide and 5 cm tall. I somehow doubt it will ever exist unless I make it myself.
Would a wireless keyboard and mouse at 2.4ghz create interference with each other? Ive always wondered if it still would be suitable for competitive gaming
my model O wireless interferes with Bluetooth devices. Its hard to tell on the desktop but it makes it unusable while gaming over wireless while wearing my Bluetooth headset. The mouse receiver is about 15 inches from the mouse.
What sensor do these have?
G703 Light for the win!
I have to charge it every 10 days more or less, but it's not a big deal, charge it during the night, no problem.
I got a g502 lightspeed wireless on cyber monday for 85€ and I love it. One charge lasts me for almost a month. I turned off all rgb and i turn off the mouse when i shut down the pc. And if it gets low when gaming i cqn always plug it in and game as if it were wired.
I have the m4 wireless. Bluetooth connection can glitch out sometimes. But it's fine after updating armoury crate.
LOL, literally just got the Razer Naga Pro yesterday, got the little charge dock as well, looks clean, mouse sits beautifully when I'm not using it, the mouse itself is so comfortable and it's just as good as any wired mouse I've used before, performance wise.
i was planning to get the superlight white but i can't find one so i bought a Rakk Talan Air white..
Why don’t they make the wireless version perforated if they’re trying to save weight?
Currently using a Logitech G604, BT and has a dongle for 2.4ghz wireless, also uses a AA. Bought it for 70usd a couple of years ago. Ok mouse but prefere it didn't have any rubberized surfaces. I use the dongle with my laptop and BT with tablets.
Use to have a Logitech G700 before that which was stole, and the Logitechs MX, VX Revolution mice in the 00s for my home and laptop systems.
I prefere mice with a removable battery, no need to worry about built-in ones going bad and you can easily buy rechargeable cells.
Are there any wireless mice that have both bluetooth and a dongle without a AAA battery? I see the logtitech G603. But I don't see why id replace my Model D- with it. It being too big and too heavy are not worth the lack of a wire. If it were lighter, maybe I could overlook the size issue. But the only real reason to get a wireless mouse is so I don't need two. The switch between bluetooth and a dongle is required.
The very last thing you said was "for the love of gaming don't use Bluetooth mouse for gaming" but does that include a wireless dongle too? Like Bluetooth bad, but wireless dongle good?
I had a wired logitech mouse that weigthed about 150 grams for 4 year (can't remember the name).
Now i have a logitech G pro superlight that weights about 60grams. I can't go back. I can't feel a difference between wired and wireless in terms of lag or response time at all. But the reduced weight and the non existent drag from the non existent cable makes a huge difference :D
I would prefer to have silent keys on my wireless mouse, since I have been using the Logitech M331 followed by the Logitech M590 since 2017, and both of them have silent keys!
i had a logitech g403 and i wanted the same design just wireless.
found the g603 and since i bought i never had to change the battery.. its a few months old now and im absolutely in love with it.
also one less cable on my desk.. just my keyboard has a cable. but thats fine. needs some light at night ;D
also no friggin software needed. c:
the mouse doesnt need rgb in my opinion.. so whatever. im really happy like this.
this goes also for my wireless headset. rgb turned off for maximum battery life c:
how about things like powerplay?
04:00 whats the name of the laptop?
Dear Asus, hope you able to notice my comment.... Just a suggestion... i DO own a few Asus mice... they are all good (in terms of material, packaging, switches & accessories & etc) but can be improve more, for some aspect like weight balance of a mice, more easy to categorize/identify product line up, some abilities to mod a mice (paracord colors, grip skins, feet & etc which i found it very hard or almost non original/after market accessories for it), more target to mouse enthusiasm (because i believe they are better in the role or promoting the mice by reviews sharing & promote) & of cause more videos & reviews of Asus product! There are very very very less exposure in my country...... Btw, cant wait to see new mech keyboard from Asus, will be very surprise it something unique come out xD Cheers!!!
My M4 Air (the Air is the wired version) weighs in at 45.7 grams lol. Great mouse, I love it
Thank you
Whatever happened to the wireless mice with no batteries, they had capacitors instead and were charged wirelessly constantly through the included usb powered mouse pad. That what I want, big powered mouse pad that sits a wireless keyboard and mouse and charges both automatically.
Hell yeah you ever find a good one?
I like my g502, it has a 1ms wireless or wired connection
Can you review rog strix flare 2 animate Dimitry?
The same day I tried Logitech's Lightspeed technology, I knew there was no way back to wired peripherals. Sold my Corsair K95 and never looked back. Using a Logi G915 keyboard + G502 Lightspeed mouse and couldn't be happier. Plus wireless charging with Powerplay mouse pad. Just have to be patient until you get a good Amazon deal since they are very overpriced at
official pricing.
Yeah that's my main gripe with Logitech's m+kb selection. I think a good alternative to their wireless keyboards is keychron as they also offer low profile, wireless, mechanical. I'm guessing Logitech has better latency and some more gaming focused features though. It's never bothered me for my k1 and I can always switch it to cable if I want, and yes it is actually communicating through the cable if you switch it to cable.
more than 2 years now using my g305 which i got for $26. Even modded it to have a sub 60g weight.
and for keyboard?
Wires does tend to be lighter
The new Razer Viper v2 Pro might change that a bit with a 57g weight
I went wireless just to have less wire on my table, not a hardcore fps gamer so i went with a Deathadder v2 x Hyperspeed, just really hate Razer Synapse because it indicate my battery level wrong, somehow it always show that my mouse has half-capacity battery left although i just recharge the battery, maybe because the 1.2v AA Eneloop don't work well with the mouse (i put the same Eneloop pack in Xbox controller and windows show correct battery capacity)
What happens if I want more germs?
I have a G Pro Wireless, Replacing the crap Chinese Omron switches with Japanese originals was trivial, replacing the battery is nothing and weigh's less than a AAA battery so better. It works fine on a wire to charge and is not an issue when not doing FPS gaming, on top of having a swapping puck under the mouse if you want to get a passive charge mouse pad, tis god level mouse IMHO
glorious model D is my favoriate mouse now.😄
Upgraded to a wireless Razer Naga after my Naga 2014 started having stuttering problems after almost 7 years of service. I wouldn't go back to a wired mouse now, wireless is so convenient !
I've always been against the idea of wireless mice for gaming, but one day I decided to buy Logitech G604 to replace my G600. The logitech wifi system is really good and latency is extremely low, that said... I play on bluetooth. Maybe I am lucky or something, but bluetooth connection on that mouse is very good, sure it isn't wired or wifi quality but it's absolutely 100% enough for anything short of super sweaty and competitive. The only reason I switch to the wifi dongle is to use it on other PC's/laptops lol. The only bad thing about this mouse is G hub, this software is atrocious, it's cluncky, very disorienting and in general a pain to use when compared to old Logitech Gaming software.
I would pay good money for a new, wireless G600 though.
I heard logitech is really really good with wireless tech :) guess it's true. I want with razer deathadder wireless... not happy I switched back to wired
do glorious model o vs razer deathadder v2
What’s this game called ? 2:06
I tried the wireless one in a store and I really like it, but I don't know what to say about Asus mices, they never impressed me ... should I buy it ? My Razer Viper died, and I'm between this and the Pwnage Ultra !!
wait for reviews of the Asus mouse which are not sponsored like this one
I'd wait for boardzy to review it
@@Voi1dwalk this video is not sponsored by ASUS, is it?
@@Voi1dwalk this isn't really a review either... it's more about the difference between wireless and wired mices...
dual connection do the best. bcs u can use it for more devices like pc and laptop too
The Alex notification noise lol
Wired Logitech G 502 Hero with all weights is best for me. I don't understand these ultralight or wireless mice. I don’t throw it on the table and I don’t carry it for a walk.
im still hesitant on buying a wireless mouse or keyboard or anything in the matter. not because of the battery life but because of the connections, im afraid of it going goofy on me
Love my g305
please test msi 15m intel alder lake i7 1280p
I used to hate wireless peripherals, especially mice, but then I found the G305 and I love it. It’s affordable, uses a single double A battery and it has no RGB
I am confused between g305 and razer viper mini. I have heard that g305 is back heavy, gets double click issue and also it has ptfe feet but viper mini has virgin grade ptfe feet, which glides better than g305's feet.
so what do you think about these issues?
@@abcdefgh6121razer viper mini is wired, logitech g305 is wireless.
@@matan8074 yes. but thats why viper mini is around half the weight of g305
i dont mind the weight, i put weights in my 502
bluetooth latency is just bad for me, hope to see a USB C unifying receiver for my logitech mouse anytime soon
When I went wireless the first time boy I stopped looking at anything with wires.
Absolutely can't tell a difference between my Deathadder Elite vs the Deathadder V2 Pro latency wise. If anything, it's much better and feels way more premium. The Elite kinda feels cheap in general.
Now the same thing with Earbuds/Headsets pls!!!
I like a heavier mouse so wireless is fine for me.
Problem is there is no wireless ec2, every other 'wireless ec2 clones' are not clone actually :(
I always go wired when possible, controllers, computers, laptops. I'll never be in a situation when PC gaming where I wouldn't be close enough to the monitor where wireless would be needed.
I also hate batteries and/or recharging. I've had more problems with wireless things than wired. Even tools as a homeowner. I can pick up a tool or controller after not using for extended periods of time and I know its going to work just by plugging it in. I've thrown away so many batteries, one-use and rechargeable, over the years on things that came wireless (xbox controllers, kids toys, etc)
mice now a days are getting lighter but a few years back, mice have counter weights.. what a weird thing what people like, heavier before now lighter
2:58
Daaaaaaaamn dongle.... Back at it again! 😅
Ni point to have a wire other than paper light insane weight or to go stupid cheap. I would just Swap shells on these 2.
Yes finally.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the wired mice better than the wireless. Great video Dimitri. Thank you for all the information on the ASUS TUF gaming mice I'm thinking about seeing if I want to upgrade my G502 and G503. Thanks again.
I would go wireless, but for some reason it is hard to find a wireless with enough buttons. I don't need those featherweight FPS mice (I actually like a bit of heft to my mice), but I just cannot go back to a three button mouse after living with my Razer Naga Hex and it's 14 buttons and custom profiles for each game.
Logitech G502 Lightspeed all the way. 11 programmable buttons and custom profiles through Logitech's software. I have 3 units of the very same mouse, it's that good.
There is a naga pro wireless with all the buttons but it is expensive af. I think Asus spartha also has a lot of buttons and is wireless but same issue of being super expensive.
@@IdunDied i use the naga pro wireless for mmos but holy shit the design of the mouse feels horrible to me. the wireless mmo mouse market needs some more options
@@Miskatonic-University Logitech makes nice mice. I especially like their scrollwheels. They have a great feel to them.
I just think we must be in the minority though. These mouse round ups or comparisons always seem to be about those super lightweight "FPS" mice. To the exclusion of mice to other types of folks.
I love my g304.
I have light mouse vs heavy wireless mouse.
I like lighter mouse but that damn cable just soo annoying
I now require my mice to be wireless because how often you make sporadic movements. As for keyboard, it's okay to use wired.
I personally dont care about RGB in generel not only on mouse, i always turn that shit off, wired or wireless. Also i feel like you failed to mention of the possible downside to wireless when going to LAN, i once had a Razer orachi at a lan, and the connection sometimes went to shit.
Is it just me or there also others who see the bulgarian trail(martenitsa) here:)
My old logitech wireless mouse and keyboard can months on an AA.
maybe I bough the wrong one but... loll I hated the razer deathadder wireless... I think was the first model. I still use the old 2015 deathadder and I have no problems. maybe I would go to another brand next time. I could feel... the delay also god I hate synpse 3...
I like what razer does with their wireless mice. I bought the razer mamba wireless, and it comes with an extension cable so you can put the dongle on the desk near the mouse.
Since when- did a wireless version G502 cost nearly $200? I went to go replace my old one an' just about dropped a deuce upon seeing the price. I swear I paid no more than $130 for the old one. And It's both wired & wireless.
Hyperinflation is upon us my friend
2:50 is nonsense.. wireless dongles are USB-A too. - You will need a USB-C to A-Hub with either technology for most notebooks these days.
One thing to think about with wireless mice is that lithium for the batteries needs to be mined, which can be pretty environmentally damaging. Especially as there's already high demand with the increasing EV car, smart phone production.
i like a bigger mouse that isn't shaped like a door-stop. I have big hands and these kind mouse hurt my hands and are harder to use.
I haven't really tried enough wireless mice to know much of a difference.
G703 worked for me.
I Use both wired & wireless. I prefer wireless though.
