    Am loving Freeze the Falls new stuff. This is my favorite song so far and I am excited that more new stuff is coming out soon.
    I have been promoting this band worldwide because I am convinced that they will be very big someday😍🤩😍
    Another "upcoming" band from the Mid West USA is City of Sound. They are independant with only 4k subscribers so far but they are very good.
    Give "But One Ghost" a go. You will love it.

      That’s awesome! The interview game is SOOO important as it’s what builds a connection beyond the music.
      Fun fact: when I worked radio there were bands that were so bad at interviews that the labels would send us a list of questions to ask and then a CD with prerecorded answers. We would “interview” the band and then play the answer. I almost got fired for deliberately asking different questions just so the answers would sound funny. 😆

    16yr old Quinn, leadsinger/guitarist plays piano. 4 years ago she fell in love with The Warning, got a guitar and taught herself how to play(not sure if she started lessons, but probably). She met her bandmates in high school and they started playing. Glitch and Daughters of Witches are crowd funded. Both were videoed in the unheated barn. As for production, I don't know. They did a pre release lifestream with Bel Development, Ashlena Reacts, and Dain Bramaged just before the release and answered a lot of questions you asked. I can see them as a support band for The Warning's next Canadian tour. Like TW, they have a good support group, people looking out for them. They are gonna be big.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock  3 месяца назад +2

      Seems like they have a tremendous support group and I’m wondering which ones were raised by either musicians or lovers of early 2000s rock and I pick up a LOT of hints and nods to the sounds that made the early to mid 2000s one of the best eras of rock (in my old humble opinion).
      Supportive parents can honestly make or break a young band. It’ll take a few years as labels HATE working with bands under 18 (hard to book venues, sponsors, etc) but as long as they stick with it… 🤩🤩🤩

      I’ve watched some live performances. Pretty damned good.
      That said, watch pretty much ANY trio live. There’s either tracks or a lack of audio elements.
      I’ll use The Warning, for example as they’ve been mentioned… they are a heavy power trio and are all amazing at what they do, but there’s not much “fluff” to the sound. That’s fine. It’s a different sound. Now go watch Shinedown. I’ll call them a trio since Brent doesn’t play. Lots of fluff. That doesn’t diminish from the quality of the experience or the quality of the song.
      Now let’s peek at Green Day. Solid trio playing rather easy music, but have you seen them live? 4-6 guys on that stage at any given time… to put out 4 Chord Pop-Punk.
      If you want straight guitar-to-your-ear music, go sit in a bar in Saskatoon with six other dudes fawning over the kid covering Wonderwall. If you want a show… well, sometimes you get tracks and touring musicians.
      Regardless, it seems like you’re poo-pooing on High Schoolers over your personal tastes in music which is really a weak look anyway.
      Oh. And “Alot” is two words.
      A Lot.

    There is a *lot* to like about their song structure, their musicianship, and their performance vibe. I want to hear more from this band. What they, and their recording studio/producer really need is better finesse in mixing and processing the vocals. I don't hear a perfect mix at all! I don't hear spatial and temporal and musical separation of the various elements in the mix, something The Warning and their audio team are particularly good at these days, and have been for some time. The lyric vocals on this song are mostly indecipherable (buried too low in the mix) until the end of the song. Vocals are there to be heard and understood (unless you're Jon Anderson of Yes!). The processing required to make them stand out and to ensure clarity is not complicated. We did it 50 years ago with classic tube equipment and tape machines. These days, it can be done with similar tube gear, or with plug-ins in a software digital audio workstation. I'd love to hear this song re-mixed, with the vocals processed for better intelligibility and about 6db to 10db louder in the mix. If you're gonna write lyrics, they'd best be good enough to be heard, and if they're gonna be heard in a mix of heavy bass, drums, and guitar, they need a "place" both spatially and temporally, and especially musically, in relation to the other instruments. When there are competing sounds, in the same sound field space, in similar musical registers, the brain can't separate them. Do "the car test." Put the song on a car audio system while driving on the freeway at 70MPH. Ask someone who has never heard it before to listen, and see if they understand the lyrics. No? Go back to the mixing room.

    • @ReactionsThatRock
      @ReactionsThatRock  3 месяца назад +2

      I get what you’re saying but:
      1) I had absolutely no problem hearing the lyrics. For this video, I had a solid pair of $300 cans on and I heard it just fine. I believe I even commented that there were no subtitles but I didn’t need them as I could hear the vocals clearly.
      So, I listened to it again on a crummy iPhone 13 speaker. Came in a touch soft (I’d have turned them up a fraction of half a hair) but it was still audible and understandable.
      2) Using Yes! as the band you prove your point with may be indicative of another issue. I’d strongly recommend checking out something from this millennium as most modern rock is recorded this way. Studios refer to “clean” and “unclean” or “dirty” vocals as both a sing vs scream but also as a straight sing vs modified vocals.
      To me, the vocal gain levels and effects serve the song.
      The Warning is a much cleaner sound. Less effects and processing. It’s apples and oranges.
      As for the car test… at the volume my music is while I’m cruising at 70, I’ll hear the vocals and my horrible voice singing along long before I hear the sirens behind me.
