- We’ve come to trust Dave Cam‘s judgement over the last year or so since he started making content for us here at Traxion.GG. From his resourceful Track Guides to his popular Pick N’ Mix Challenge, and everything in between, Dave’s rarely let us down when it comes to iRacing content on the channel.
For 2022 iRacing Season 3, Dave’s decided to use his iRacing prowess to give us his favorite combination of car and track for each week. Instead of the Traxion.GG community picking something for Dave to drive, Dave is going to tell all of you what you should try in his new Combo of the Week series.
The first combo comes in the form of the newly-released Radical SR10 at an always popular Road Atlanta. Dave chose this combo because the Radical is a new challenge for all and Road Atlanta is one of his favorite tracks on the service. Also, as Dave’s found out, the combo is really challenging. Who doesn’t like a good challenge, am I right?
In today’s video, you’ll see Dave attempt a race in the Radical Racing Challenge official series. The races are 20 laps long, and with lap times around the one minute, 15 second mark, these races should take about 25 minutes to complete on average. The Road Atlanta venue is 2.54-miles or 4.09-kilometers in length and contains 12 corners.
Will Dave be able to slice through the field from the 15th starting spot? You’ll have to tune in to find out how the race goes! Thank you guys. I'm pleased it's not just me who finds the new Radical hard to tame 😁
I think it drives like the Formula Vee only faster acceleration. I stayed in 3rd through the last 90 to stop the excess wheel spin.
My radical doesn’t wiggle wiggle it folds, into the barrier it goes. Other drivers Giggle giggle for sure. Sitting in the replay, I really get to see it.
Speed is fast, it’s no compact, head smacks the rollcage when I drive right past Iv’e got a knack to attack for the gap, crossing the fiiiin iiiiish liiiiiine
Combo of the Week needs to come back. Just started again and i would love to see this again for the ongoing season. love the content!
Raced this yesterday as well. Was in a 3600 iRating split. Well off track twice and still came back 5 positions. What a crazy combination. Extremely fun and rewarding, but not for the faint of heart.
I have watched a bunch of videos, this has been one of my favorites. Great race, well driven.

I did this race earlier this week. Spun on the first lap but managed to claw my way back up to a P2 finish!

As usual Dave very well driven race. These cars i like better that the old SR8 because you don’t have to blip on hard downshifting. That being said i find the old car seemed to have a slight bit more front end grip. Seems like the SR10 is harder on fronts. Still i like the new car and hope it gets some love from the community. Oh and by the way the waste gate blow off sound is like music to my ears.
Week 13 at Atlanta I joined a practice session with about 30 drivers and less than 10 were able to put in a valid lap😂
Btw, one of my favorite combinations, besides the SR8's at pretty much any track, is the USF2000's at Oran Park. The next time the USF2000's run at Oran you need give that combo a go. :)

Fun race
Sad to see the end of the old Radical series. I would if this will die out like the original SR8 did when it was a paid car?
I just can't get comfortable with the SR10's. I can manage top 10 finishes in the top split, but still off the leader's pace by quite a bit. You just don't feel like you have the control of the SR10's like you did with the SR8's. I raced the SR8's as my main series since I started racing in IRacing and I'm "really" going to miss them. :(
Tire and brake warm up is really critical. I nearly need to drag brakes on my first half of the outlap just to get them warm
Try not trail-braking, I found out that the car drives better without it

Will miss the old SR8, this one seems very understeery and sketchy. I wonder if they could leave also the SR8 to compete against the SR10? I think there is not much between them?
Anyone got tips for a newbie for braking with these. The lack of ABS is kicking my arse.
Press the brake and the squeeze to slow down more. You can brake quite heavily but you've got to be quite progressive 👍
