I did this tonight myself! Pastel purple for the win! Just a tip: when applying conditioner to dilute the dye, it is going to result in quick fading on the hair. This is due to the fact that most of us who use this method, purchase cheap white conditioners to do so. These conditioners often have silicones in them like dimethicone, which stops the dye from being fully and properly absorbed into the hair. Although it may be more expensive, invest in a white conditioner that is more natural and contains no silicones! You will be surprised at how much longer the dye stays in your hair :)
Since 2010 I've used Manic Panic for fun, vibrant colours. Now that I'm older I've moved away from the loud vibrant dyes. So, I've never diluted for pastel before. Even though I'm using Electric Lizard, and I'm not dying all my hair; this was exactly what I was looking for in what direction I should go!

please please please preferred the manic panic pastelizer jars. it's done on purpose to create perfect pastels. My worry about using conditioners is that since they contain fat (among other things), the pigments will be less able to enter the hair cuticle because instead it is the care that will take its place. so yes it still works but the result is more bland than what you used their pastelizer. and the color will last longer. ps: little extra tips is to use before coloring, it is to wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. it will allow you to get rid of everything on the hair (styling products, silicone, pollution, etc.) it's normal to have the feeling of rough hair but don't worry, manic products panic contain care, it will help the color stay better and the color more radiant! always wash with cold water and no aggressive shampoo (with SOS or other sulfate) if possible products safe for colored hair (personally I use either number 4C from olaplex as a clarifying shampoo before coloring. after either the number 4 of olaplex or the Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure Color Jelly Shampoo, Schwarzkopf Professional FIBER CLINIX Vibrancy Shampoo or even the L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Vitamino Color Shampoo for example but there is also all the care you need at manic panic)

The color stays on my ends for a few months, but I usually dye the top portion of my head every two to four weeks. It really depends on how often I wash my hair throughout the week
