" as YOU see the day approaching." As who sees the day approaching? The people that this letter was written and sent to-that's who!! The believers in 1st century Judea-NOT-21st century America! And the "new covenant" was for Israel and Judah, as Jeremiah clearly spells out-not everybody that calls themselves a Christian for the next 2,000 years! According to Heb.8:7, the Law had faults! But according to Psalms 19:7-the Law is perfect. Also see 2 Sam.22:31; Psalm 18:30, Prov.30:5 etc.etc.
"For it is by Grace you SAVED through FAITH, and NOT of yourselves. It is a GIFT from God and NOT of works, so NO ONE can Boast" Ephesians 2:8-9 This is the Salvation message people throughout the world can't seem to grasp. It's by our FAITH in the Lord Jesus that we are saved. We can't be good enough, we can't do enough good works, it's ONLY by accepting the GIFT of Jesus's blood Sacrifice, that we are saved. THEN the Holy Spirit goes to work in us and creates a New person. We want to do the things pleasing to God.

Talking correctly about God is of utmost importance because a false idea about God is idolatry. In Psalm 50:21, God reproves the wicked man with this accusation: “You thought I was altogether like you.” To start with, a good summary definition of God is “the Supreme Being; the Creator and Ruler of all that is; the Self-existent One who is perfect in power, goodness, and wisdom.”❤
