Was trying to perform the wall jump to get up to the vines you do at 0:39 but noticed that the vines in my version are slightly higher up. I assume they're different here from being on an earlier patch but was wondering if it's still possible to do that jump on current patch?
yeah those vines did get pushed up in v1.2, I have no idea why they changed it lol. It still is possible on v1.2 though. When you groundpound in this game you gain just a little height before falling. So you do the same thing as in this clip, but right before you're about to grab the vines, you groundpound to get that little height boost to make it up. It's much harder, but still possible.
When just running back and forth you'll see your character kinda do a slide when changing directions. If you jump while in that state your character does like a sideflip/somersault kinda thing, and all your momentum will just instantly get switched to whatever direction you're holding. You can see the input viewer on the left below the splits, I just tap down (S) and jump (space), and since I have so much speed going in, it gives me so much speed going out.
It's a glitch called a "coyote". If you enter the air in a way that doesn't involve jumping, then you press jump right when you start spinning, the game gives you another jump. We often will do this after a trick called a super, which is that big jump off the shredders that's used multiple times in the run.
I was binging all your pbs and you just get a wr while I sleep, insane
6:48 that has got to be one of the CLEANEST water boosts I've ever seen! So Effortless in appearance, yet so Nuanced in execution!
yea that boost in tutorial is super fun, kinda funny how perfectly it works there

When getting the first checkpoint in the tutorial. How do you get such a large back jump right when you land?

How do you spin jump mid air?
