background vocals are such an important factor in music, and I feel like the effort put into them by loona is something that drew me in initially. you see some lesser known groups with songs with singular stale leads and barely any leads, the song just sounds so simple and I get bored of it LOL. I don't mean to divert attention but background vocals are a reason why I love red velvet so much too.
I think that real melomaniacs just like you or me do really must pay attention to such important factor like melodies, harmonies and how everything blends in altogether. I totally agree with you, LOONA as a professional music concept, so far, has been doing an amazing job (vocally and behind music production) in terms of generating appealing and multiple tones that it is impossible to ignore. In my case for example, most of their songs inspire me mystery, a complex concept of something beyond, perhaps outerspace themes and of course an energizing effect especially achieved in OEC's main songs. They are all so great but i wanna highlight especially Kim Lip & Jinsoul these girls do really have something especial♡ It is very easy to differ between groups who have put especial effort in music production and those who not. Maybe people havent even thought about this but mixing basic melodies to create a completely new one never heard before, could be the main reason why they got attached or paid attention to this group. Yes, she could belt resonant C5s and C#5s back when she made her debut in 2007 and singing with above average vocal technique is something Loona girlies have yet to achieve.
The harmonies in See Saw have always been easy for me to hear so I often sing the chorus "I see you... I saw you" in the melody and I harmonize the second time Chuu sings those phrases, it's so much fun

I saw all four of these videos and I’m more astounded and not surprised with these vocals but I feel like BBC needs to train them in vocals more as these 12 gals have got SO MUCH potential that they can be unimaginable in the future compared to now to be one of the best vocal groups in our generation with such distinct and great voices
but i still think that most of the adlibs in eclipse is done by lipie c: i mean i heard another voice doing some runs, but most of it reaaally sounds like lipie. or is charli taft's voice really similar to lipie i dunno XD
charli said on twitter that she did the adlibs in the very beginning (easy to tell because kim lip did them in the teaser version) and the high A5 in the climax- i also think she did the run at 1:41 but the rest is definitely kimberly :))
