Recent video I shot of a Versatile 1150 tractor pulling a 40 foot wide Versatile Fury High Speed Disk near Washington Court House Ohio.

I love these old tractors growling along under a load! The sound they make is MUSIC! Unlike the new stuff. It all sounds like over speeding leaf blowers!
That big disc is giving the tractor a good workout.
Sweet tractor and sounds great yes they have a awesome tractor collection I got the pleasure of touring their collection a few years ago and for that I thank them it was a good time

That big horse had 475hp at the low end an you could feed it more oats to easy make it 550hp or more . It was a beast . Still can remember when I was ALOT YOUNGER running it , power for days .

Just an idea, but to deal with compaction have you considered using a deeper individual plow for each wheel track at the points of wheel contact? 4 individual deeper plows Attached to the current plow being the only modification... or is the compaction not an issue?

Hey Mike, great video! We just picked up an 1150 ourselves up in central Alberta Canada. Wondering if you know of a good place to source parts from for these old girls.
Great to see these old high horsepower tractor footage, big tractors in their day . Sounds awesome. Had some operating in the Moree district, New South Wales Australia.

It is the 8 speed manual transmission
I noticed with some of the older versatile tractors that the muffler is at the end of the hood but other older model its by the cab, was there a reason for this?
They were out front from factory.

Big tractor! Nice unit, that disc does a nice job, did ford have interest in versatile
Mike may be able to answer better, but Ford-New Holland bought Versatile in the mid-late 1980's and put their name on the tractors until right around 2001-2002 I believe. When the Case-IH and New Holland merger came about in 2001 they sold off the Versatile line to John Buhler in Winnipeg, when it became Buhler Versatile. That's about when we started as a Versatile dealer. We started in Nov/Dec 2003 if I remember correctly.

Is that the same high speed disc that you were demoing at the farm show earlier this year. It kinda looks like it.
Its the model of disk as the one at the farm show but that was a 30 footer we used at the show.

That's a great sounding tractor. No idea if any ever made it to Europe? I've certainly never seen one.
Versatile only made 100,000 of those articulating tractors...so I would assume they could be a few in europe, while most are here and the land of canucks.
Farmers in europe are using versatile, but they aren’t using the articulated tractor...it’s said to be “the nemesis of the articulated versatile”. Pretty good looking tractor and the classic yellow and red colors. Note- i’ve been looking while posting and just found this bit of information.

These high speed discs are very heavy, and you really do have to pull then fast for best results. I’d say this 1150 has all it can take
How long has versatile been using Cummins power?
Since they started. 1963ish?

For 'high speed' implement, it's not going very 'fast'? Looks to b getting job done tho
As heavy as the ground is that's the only gear we could pull it in. Next gear up is 9mph and that 1150 didn't like pulling that tool at that speed. The Fury is an excellent tool, but it can make today's biggest tractors really work at the higher speeds. It was running between 6 and 7mph in the video I believe.

@@cmayerMFE is there fluid in the tires? These suckers only weigh about as much as a panther 1000 and I can’t imagine a tractor in that weight range pulling a 40’ fury
@@nellsonstout7001 no fluid that I can tell, but we haven't pulled tires since we have it. Speed helps the weight problem
