Once you get to "but I still feel like they all know," I think you need to put as much power as you have into it as the full weight of reality hits Ethel and her conviction grows in her perspective.

I appreciate that :( as for the editing I use reverb and a lot of mixing to give that ethel cain sound. for vocals I also denoise, get rid of higher frequencies and maximise my lower range with some tools in Bandlab. i only use Bandlab, shitty apple wired headphones and a closet. yep i sing in my closet and it gives a great sound!! let me know if you’ll be working on some stuff would love to hear it
