  • Is sheetrock at my fixer upper house finally finished?! Well... we'll have to see how much we get done today! We finally got the in wall plumbing finished so we can sheetrock the pantry walls! I am so excited to see this area come together!
Hey there! My name is Abby and I recently bought a MAJOR fixer upper house. I am SO excited to work on fixing it up this old house and turning it into my dream home. I can't wait to take you on this journey with me! I am planning to DIY as much as I can and learn so much about home renovations along the way. I am starting out totally clueless so I am sure it will be a grand adventure! Follow along on my channel if you want to see DIY projects, renovating a house on a budget, and I am sure a lot of craziness along the way! I'm just a girl with a drill and a dream.

Hallway cubby up top, try baskets first to see if you like it. You can put doors on later if you like.

If you leave it open with baskets you'd have to clean it often to keep dust and dirt out so my first thought is to have doors that way you can hide stuff in there you don't want out or don't use often. The doors keep the dust and dirt out better than open shelves. Love how things are coming along. Can't wait until you start painting and decorating!

I agree door would be better, baskets a dust collector is my opinion. What progress you guys hv made. I laugh every time u do a cut out for a receptacle, I would ruin many sheets of Sheetrock myself! Lol

@@debdeb62065 there ARE a lot of great channels out there. I think most prefer to keep their political beliefs to themselves. I was busy doing dishes and listening to videos. Suddenly a video about...Lil tay started playing. I don't know who this is, I don't care who this is...I came to my tablet to look for a new video when Abby popped up! Thank goodness! I love this channel. I love her faith based family and friends!!

Have you ever considered accordion doors so that you don't have wasted space when the doors are open? Think about it....I took all my closet doors off of my DW home so that the wall space would be larger. I had the movers put the doors in the attic of my shed. I put up a spring curtain rods and hung sheers. One door jam I put a heavy duty shower rod (adjustable kind) and put nails under both sides on the edges to keep the rod from falling and I hang clothes on it. Just a few ideas that I am glad I made! Can't wait to see your place ALL DONE!

Great job, Abby and Jay! The pantry does look amazing! Abby, Jay has taught you so well that you look like a professional installing drywall! All of the measuring, cutting, lifting, and using your feet, legs, and arms to help hold in place looks like you got it down pat. I also love the toolbelt. I am so excited for you! It's going to be so beautiful when you get it finished. I loved the shot from the kitchen looking out through to the front door! I love that door so much! It is really great to be able to see and not have the wall blocking that pretty view. You can be in your kitchen cooking and see who is at your front door. I love it! The area above the fridge next to your broom closet would be great with baskets filled with things you might not want to look at or maybe some cookbooks and a plant. When you get to the organizing and decorating, you will figure out what needs to go there. You can leave it open now, and then if you would rather have doors, you can always add them. I am looking forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing your journey. Love Melissa in the mountains of Virginia. 🙏 ❤
