- A lot of people who study Law at University do so because they want to become practising lawyers, whether as barristers or solicitors. But it is not necessary to read Law at University to become a lawyer. Equally, studying Law at University is a legitimate subject for academic study even if you definitely do not want to become a lawyer or think that you may not become a practising lawyer. That is because the study of Law at University is not a vocational subject; it is an academic subject and an intellectual discipline.
Graham Virgo KC, Professor of English Private Law at the University of Cambridge, discusses the benefits of studying a law degree even if you do not wish to progress into the legal professions. Considerations include training the student to think and write logically and clearly; enabling the student to engage in the critical analysis; enabling the student to engage in a wide variety of different academic disciplines; and because the subject is interesting and intellectually stimulating.

1) Practise your English - it has to be perfect
2) Show proactiveness - try to get a part time job and try to get as much charity work on your CV as possible
3) Try and get some experience shadowing some kind of lawyer in your local town - Phone around: people are always looking for someone to make coffee

Best Video!! This is the truth. I happen to follow in this category. I plan to study law, but not want to be a lawyer. I just have a passion for it.
He has the answer to my life question as to why i really want to study law but without the motivation to become a lawyer or an attorney.
what jobs would be available for people who study law but don't want to be lawyers though? genuine question haha please help me someone
I really like the way that Graham Virgo explains things.
Virgo is literally reading from a script. Sure, this helps keep his ideas more organized, but it kind of felt more like a rock instead of energy. I had to turn on CC in order to comprehend deeper on what he is saying.
It doesn't matter what you study, if you study at Cambridge... Of course you don't have to train as a lawyer after your degree. Cambridge opens up England's establishment, which is its whole point... Nothing to do with law.
Well put out ! I never realized one could study law for not becoming a solicitor/barrister . Thought provoking !
