Amazing tour ! Opens a bunch of new possibilities. In a more day to day setting, opening the text feature to being driven by expression is great. Now we just need to expose the Part properties so we can reference PartNumber and Revision and make an engraving that dynamically updates.
Great demo - you beat me to it ;) This new capability is a real superpower and can enable a bunch of useful things.... Looking forward to seeing more examples in the Onshape community!
Thanks for another awesome video. This new feature allowing expressions opens up a lot of possibilities, and your video showed even more possibles that had not occurred to me.
Thanks for the clear tour, I hadn't tried messing with it yet and that clarified a number of things! I'm thinking it might make sense for "auditing" purpose (i.e. for yourself when look back at something you did after a few months or if if someone else is trying to understand how you modeled something...) to put the expressions driving "stuff" in a variable before hand and then just reference them in the dialogue after "converting to expression".
I think this is a great idea. Do all of the expressions in a Variable feature set to "Any", then you can also add a description of what the variable is driving later.
New to Onshape and love your videos even tho they are a bit advanced! I am trying to make the "turning torso" building in malmö sweden. would love a video on how you make/handle twisting geometry and putting attractor pattern or what ever is best way of doing repetative stuff (windows on the building)
To be honest, you could probably get there in Onshape, but there are other 3D tools better suited to architectural things, like Rhinocerous with the Grasshopper plugin.
@@ovyl I am almost done with it in onshape,It looks good but its very messy I feel like! its been a challange for sure and i am new to onshape aswell. What I wanted to see is how you would handle the challanges. it would make a good video I think :) But after all maybe onshape is wrong tool.
Sorry this is off topic but thought if anyone knows it would be you. I would like to be able to create a note on a drawing that captures the volume of a part or an enclose . Any help would be much appreciated. Loving all you videos btw

Thanks, Greg! I hope you make one anyway since I'm sure it will give me some new things to think about.

Glad it was helpful!
Amazing. Thank you so much!
Thank you for great video and tutorial.
You are welcome!

What was the keyboard command you used to increment up and down the clearance value?
Up and down arrows. You can hold shift for a 10x increment, and control for a 0.1x increment.

hey thanks! I believe Computed Part Properties is your search term on that one.
@@ovyl thanks will do some research .
@@ovyl perfect you were spot on .
