It's been a while since we sat down and just chatted! Thank you to everyone who submitted a question - tell me something about you in the comments below...
Such a brilliant q&a! Thank you for talking about children. My friends and I are a similar age to you and are sick of being asked when we are having children. Not everyone wants children, and some people aren't able to. That doesn't make them any less of a woman. And if people want to be parents, that's good too! Each to their own. I'm happy being an Auntie to two toddlers and focusing on my career.
So glad you enjoyed it. I hear you! I think it’s beautiful that not everyone wants the same thing. That’s what makes us unique and different and valuable in our own way. Here to celebrate choice and freedom from a very narrow view of the world. 💖💪
You're reminding me of how I don't think of myself as unconventional. But a few minutes with people like those, make me scream for the exits. I know they "mean well", but it's code for simply being self-satisfied. It's like if you're single, everyone imagines you're banging whoever you can like Samantha in SATC, OR they expect you to cry on their shoulder about your sad love life and give you blow by blow (unfortunate choice of word there but you get my drift) descriptions of failed dates. No other option occurs to them(!)
@@deborahcurtis1385 thanks for sharing. I know what you mean. The biggest turning point for me was realising that most people are just projecting onto others. Like you say, they often only mean well but they do damage in the mean time by disregarding your choice because it never has been a considersation for them. Name calling also, such as being called 'selfish' for not having children is also borderline manipulation - although I feel more and more people are becoming less rigid in their thinking and lets hope this continues.

"I would adopt" (later in life). What a brilliant response. There are so many unloved children out there and it's great to embrace how that can fit in for you.
This is a great video. Women do have more value than having children. I'm so glad to hear your focus and ambition. I will wish you well on your journey
Very interesting! You’re so well spoken and lovely. I have been a loyal subscriber for about a year. It’s nice to get an insight into your life. Having children is a personal choice!
Loved your openness about your life! Thank you for this. So awesome you can have a career in something you love. The children discussion is always touchy for some people. You do you! It’s hard being a parent, I was an older mom, I had so many friends who couldn’t have kids and went through hell trying. I told myself I wouldn’t do that to myself and let whatever happened happen. I am blessed with 3 kids but it’s not for everyone. Enjoy your life with abandon. Looking forward to your next vlog. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you so much Steph for opening up your private life to those of us who follow and admire you. There is nothing more inspiring than a strong independent woman and you are all that and just the epitome of grace. You are interesting, entertaining but more importantly, trustworthy and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you in this venture moving forward! You make women proud. Lots of love from one adoring Canadian! ♥️
Oh Ruth - you're simply the most wonderful woman. Your support does not go unnoticed and I feel so grateful to have you here and your amazing energy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
I have a daughter who's 34 with 3 kids and a son 32 (almost 33) with no children yet but he's been married just over a year so I think they are planning a family. I couldn't wait to have kids after I was married and loved every second of it but totally understand that it's not for everyone. I see a lot of people in their twenties and thirties not planning on having kids more and more so I don't think it's uncommon anymore. Back when I had kids it was more of a given that kids were part of the plan but have seen that change a lot over the years. I really enjoy your down to earth classy and practical style and personally think 50 bags is fine. I have at least 80 and love them all. There are so many beautiful bags out there!
Love my Hermes Picton 18 in black with gold hardware and into the smaller mini Chanels but so many more it's really hard to choose. I was heavy into Chanel and have a good collection and now really into Hermes. Have my wishlist put in for a Birkin 25 or 30 so fingers crossed. I bought my first LV Capucine that was a limited edition which I know you have some in your collection. Haven't used it yet but sure looks beautiful! @@Handbagholic
Great video don’t have kids if you don’t want them they will feel it and have emotional problems. It’s better left to the women that really want them. They are a blessing.
Your comment about women having value without having kids! This!! I can’t have children and I don’t want them for precisely the same reason. I been called selfish and been told constantly I’d change my mind. I’m in my early 40s and I still don’t want them. I rather have a Go-14 🤣
Katt I’m sorry you’ve been called that and your choice has been belittled to ‘you’ll change your mind’. Having a child doesn’t make you selfless person, and not having one doesn’t make you selfish. It makes you an adult who’s capable of making a decision that’s best for you and it’s ridiculous to think everyone should want the same thing 💖
Really enjoyed your q & a, thank you for being so open. I am 38 and got my son when I was 33. I was very focused on my career at that time and I have to say that it was hard for me to change my life. Love my son to the moon and back but a few years I struggled to be not so successful anymore as I reduced my working hours and changed my job to be more there and not travelling for work. It is not that I regret being a mom but I understand why women don’t want kids and I totally understand why. Be you and be happy that is important 🤗
Thanks for sharing your story. Yes it’s a big deal having children and I know if I become a mum, it’ll be when I’m older in a less conventional way. Appreciate you being here and taking the time to share 💖
At least people will stop asking questions at one point. I am 46 now and i has stopped since i am 36/37. I never regret my choice and living my best life full with stuff we love. So many friends and family are complaning to us that they are always juggling with responsibilities and constantly worried about everything.
The only thing I would say is just be mindful of leaving it too late to adopt if that is a serious option, as I am presuming you would adopt a baby/younger child and not someone aged 18, and someone becoming a parent of a young child at the age of 50 something + is a little risky (time and good health is not always on our side as we get older) I am not meaning to throw any negativity your way, but its a really important factor.
Thanks for sharing, it’s a good perspective. I think I’d actually adopt a slightly older child, not a baby. Definitely going to give myself another 10 years before this is a serious consideration I think.
I only recently found you on RUclips. I cannot afford a Chanel bag, but would love one. So I enjoy watching you talk about your bags. I also met my partner 9 years ago on a dating app (Plenty of Fish). A few months later, I moved into his flat. Also, we are not married, and dont intend to get married, as we are happy as we are.

Thanks for the honest Q&A. I did know very early on that I did not want to have children and it is kind of interesting especially at your age that you are always asked about that and people might think it is not normal to not wanting to have children. Being in my 50s now I have no regrets, to each their own. I definitely think you should go with your own instincts and I do not think that I would have been a good mom because of the lesser desire to be a mom. That being said I’m a dog mom since my 30s and truly enjoy that. Thanks for great content creation.
