This is the only thing that I can critique Pando on.
He’s usually pretty good but forgets to credit some of the shorter clips.
Still epic though cos we are able to listen to our old favourites with modern /and past (rip) rappers and metal.
It’s funny how these genres collide so perfectly.
I honestly give a lot of credit to the mixing of black and white culture to this.
Like it or not, jay z & linkin park opened a door that nobody believed would work.
(I was lucky enough to be working as a coffee boy/eventual guitar tech then session musician at sunset sound when collision course was mixed)
Most of the production team were saying “this is such a waste… jay ain’t even coming that tell us all we need to know but we been paid let’s do it”
Then they actually showed up to re record some old stuff.
And that was the moment I realised: I had f”d up by thinking linkin park were a “screamy thrash metal band” (my own words circa 2009/10 ish)
Damn man. Chester Bennington was the nicest guy ever. & I was rude to him 🙈
I mean before I knew who he was and I thought he was taking the p*ss out of me. (I’m Scottish)
Genuinely thought the “random guy”
Was mocking me. He was actually just being super polite which I later learned was his default state.
It genuinely pains me that I’ll never ever be able to apologise.
I met his wife and Mike shinoda I estimate around 2015 when they came to do interviews in LA about Chester’s “suicide” (😒)
I wanted to say something. Anything as by this time I had adopted linkin park as one of my favourite bands and I loved to sing and play “the messenger”
But how I can explain that one in a way that they would understand?
All I can say is: when I learned that they were coming- I took my annual leave to go snowboarding. Because I wasn’t a fan and the rest of the studio was.
I returned to studio B - the one made famous by many but perhaps most famously by Prince (or the symbol) who recreated that room down to the amount of floorboards because he loved it so much.
Anyways that was “my” studio.
It’s got the famous piano in it.
I was walking down the hallway passing all the platinum and gold discs and I could hear someone playing the piano, which truthfully annoyed me as I knew it had just been retuned and I saw no bookings. But by the time I got to the door I was just curious as to who was in there because it sounded like an angel and Pavarotti having a fight.
It was of course, chester Bennington re recording very quickly…
Hence no booking.
“Mate why the FFF are you in here that piano has just been done for sir Elton!!! Are you mad!!!”
“I’m real sorry man, I just got told I could run in here and do a sample, don’t worry ill have my guy come and he knows sir Elton’s specs”
Honestly thought he was just a random that had snuck in somehow and was winding me up. (Who can afford a piano tune to Elton Johns desired spec?-yeh turns out he can and does know🙈🙈🙈☠️)

It might have it's flaws, but Henry Cavill is the perfect Geralt, so it can only get worse from here on.
