I think it's pretty noticable difference. There is more clarity and instrument separation. The original Aegir has like a veil over the sound. Bravo Schitt Audio on the Aegir 2. Seems to have gone from meh, to very good.

The sound samples for comparison between the Aegir and Aegir 2 is very informative and valuable. Thank you for sharing. 💜

I’ve been looking forward to your review of the Aegir 2. Thank you for publishing it today.
I would very much appreciate your briefly comparing it and the Vidar 2 to the TS A75 here in the comments, as these are my 3 main amp options!

Just buy them. If you don’t like them then return them. No need to let other people “hear” things for you. That is silly.

As of right now, based on your list I would go with Aegir 2 if you don't play super loud like 100db+ range because build quality of Aegir 2 is better especially mechanical noise control which other two is not as good, as always sound subjective. Thanks

I think you would be fine with just one of them. You have extremely high sensitivity speakers. I don’t think you will ever need all those watts

I looked forward to your review as usual, they're always thorough and detailed, thx. As I'm sure you know, the original Aegir ran hot because it was biased into class A over the first 10 watts, and the remaining 10watts were essentially class B or AB. NOW, with the exact same chassis and heatsink, the new Aegir2 runs much cooler (according to your temperature measurements) and with more power. How is that possible? The only explanation I can think of for this, suggests that this new Aegir2 has less class A bias. That would explain more watts and less heat, don't you think? This new amp seems to be less class A than the original.

Awesome review. if i may ask two questions. For near field do you think two of these units will be fine? (got 84db spendor classic speakers). 2nd. if you were to compare these with any other class amplifier for nearfield? with slightly more price is there any other preference of amplifier over these?

what type of op amps has it got in there ? are they socketd?
it comes over better with it Aegir one than the two
the one has a bit more laid natural sound the number two seems to be a bit restricted like it's been played through a tube. gated slightly.
have you moved again it's a different room?
with having your rack at the back like that you can use it as a diffuser, I would add a one or two tier shelving for records as well above it would be better, and if it's a bit low what it looks a bit low? you could use a 7 inch box section at the bottom for 7 inches and raise it up a bit. just make sure you put some decent foam 2 in " or felt at the back of the cutouts sections and on your rack as well just make sure there's enough airflow.

Schiit Ager is too hot, too weak at 30 watts, too old. Not to mention no trigger input, no gain adjustment, no RCA loop out.
I have upgraded from my lovable Class A/B Parasound 2125v2 to Class D NAD C298 amp.
