  • In this video, I show how I clean car rubber floor mats, and then protect them for the next time they are ready to be cleaned! Cleaning car floor mats is a fairly easy and straight forward area of detailing, but in this video, I mix it up a little bit by showing not only how to clean rubber car mats, but also how to protect them when they are cleaned, in a safe way that does not make them slippery or dangerous for the customer! Follow along as I show not only how to clean rubber weather mats, but also how to protect them in a completely safe way!

    Greetings from down the road in Huntsville. I did this same process using the Natural Shine and it worked well. I have those exact same mats, don’t you hate all the little ‘slots’ the have? The water, cleaner and protectant kept collecting in there. I could blow out the water but kept having to dab a towel to get the protectant smoothed out.

    You are one of the few videos I found that had an actual dirty mat to start off with! Thanks

    Man watching all these videos on super clean made me buy it. So cheap it's great. Used SONAX APC before but that was really expensive. Have 3 bottles, 1 full strenght, one 5 to 1 and one 10 to 1! Hopefully I'll used them in approriate areas and not damage anything!

    This is what Weathergard sells to shine and protect their mats following cleaning:
    TechCare FloorLiner & Floor Mat Protector
    A custom engineered and blended formula made specifically for WeatherTech. This product imparts a strong, durable coating to the FloorLiner and Floor Mat that resists scuff marks, staining, and everyday wear and tear. In addition, the product dries to an anti-slip finish

    Hey Wilson try meguiars hyper dressing diluted down to 4:1 lightly spray entire mat then go over with microfiber until it's not slippery or oily it just leaves a nice black look. I've never had any issues slipping with it but it looks brand new!

    Dr. Wilson! Thank you for posting this video. I have always wondered what would be good to make the mats look a little better. I have never heard of the Meguiar's Natural Shine Protectant. I have to give this suggestion a try. Also, where did you find that brush? The two-sided one you used for the little groove areas.

      I agree... makes them look good but turns them into skating rinks especially the Weather tech plastic style.

    For a minute there I thought the nosey chicken was gonna help. As usual this is a great tip. I always hated the scuff marks on rubber mats after they are cleaned. I have the x wax but I think the natural shine looks better. Gonna have to get some now.

    I like your videos. I've learned some good stuff. I have clear mats over my factory mats, to help protect them from dirt and wear, but they are starting to yellow and turn brown. Is there a way to make them clear, again? Thanks.

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  6 лет назад +1

      Well over time those clear ones will start to yellow and cloud, and I dont know that there is an easy way to fix it, or really worth it because they are so cheap

    Wow! A microfiber towel for something that gets trampled day in and day out. Think about going that extra mile. I really wonder how many of my friends or passengers take a look at the floor mat and say it’s dirty :). I bet Meguiars would also send a mini hand lens that can enable people to actually look at the dirt a 1000 times larger so you keep cleaning and cleaning for a week! No wonder the cleaning industry is doing fantabulous!!

    Thanks Luke .... I made the mistake of using a regular vinyl protectorate and had very slippery mats. I like the idea of ordering with the link so you get a Commission and was wondering if it follows through on all the other products Amazon pops up on the same page. I know some RUclipsers set up a single page somehow on Amazon showing all the products they endorse. Maybe that could help you. One last suggestion… Set up a tip jar.

    • @wilsonautodetailing
      @wilsonautodetailing  7 лет назад +1

      hahahahahahahah I love the tip jar idea!! So here is how amazon works, if you click ANY of my links it will obviously take you to a specific product depending on what link you click, but the cool thing is that, yes if you buy that product it does give me commission, but even if you dont buy that product, AS LONG AS YOU STAY ON AMAZON, you can buy ANYTHING, and it will give me a commission, as long as you got to amazon through my link!!!

    • @Mattmanutube
      @Mattmanutube 7 лет назад +1

      glad to give you the business .... just bought $50.00 worth of products you included the links for. Will use Tip Jar if you put one in

      hahahaha yes nooks! And you can but if anything is really stuck on there it is not going to have the power to push it off, you would need something more like a pressure washer for that
