My biggest problem is that I don't know how to meet people in the first place. I don't really have any social life, there is nothing to do where I live if you're not interested in sports or alcohol. I've been single for almost 5 years now, and before my last relationship I was also single for 5 years. I'm so so sick of being alone (though of course I'd rather be single forever than with the wrong person!), I just don't know how to change it. The internet is kinda the only way I can socialize a bit, and I'm not opposed to doing long distance - that's what my last relationship was - but damn it's hard to find people even on the internet.

I struggled to find people I also resonated with as in my town everyone drinks alcohol and does drugs and at 18-20 yrs old it’s rare to find someone that doesn’t do that, and has actual hobbies. I eventually did find my person who enjoys the same “old people” hobbies I do, I met him at a Trader Joe’s out of all places. You never know when you will stumble upon someone that will change your life for the best. If you share similar hobbies then you can try book stores, libraries, a local park (in the morning), gym maybe, a workout class, or a cafe? It helps that I don’t have any social media, which forces me out of the house to interact with people, I feel like not having it strengthened my personal relationship with myself and my partner.

So very much solitary indoor hobbies haha.I do go to an annual music festival, which is a socialization opportunity, buuut that's only 4 days out of the whole year that I actually do something around other people. Been wanting to go to some more festivals but obviously it's expensive and a lot of hassle with travel and such
