  • By the end of this video you will be able to realistically illuminate your scenes, add 3d models and materials, before rendering your final image. Please note, on opening the scene you will need to adjust the Simple Exposure if you want to replicate the results seen in the video (the default Simple Exposure may be too bright!)

    Such a nice tutorial, and quite calming tbh 😅 it makes you feel things are more simple than what you think

      Thank you for the kind words! We do hope that using Corona (and learning it) is more simple than you might expect, and that it can be calming too :) Thanks! Tom

    Well, not sure about that, but as soon as we don't have such a bunch of information yet, I have some questions about Cosmos. For instance, can we edit the models? If I want to share my scene with a colleague, how should I proceed? Would be very nice to have a more in depth presentation about this tool.

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад

      You can edit the materials of an imported model easily; you can swap the model to being loaded fully rather than as a proxy, then it's just a model in the scene like any other and you can edit it just like anything else; so long as your colleague has a Corona or V-Ray license (and so has Cosmos) you can share the scene as you normally would any scene that contains proxies. Hope that answers the questions :) Thanks! Tom

    I am new to 3d and cinema 4d. Is Corona a good fit for stylized type scene (Pixar type)?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  Год назад +1

      It's not what Corona is aimed at, and for more advanced uses with teams and a workflow pipeline V-Ray would be a better fit, but for a one person project and starting out, it might be fine to try out Corona (test the free trial first to see if it fits your needs!). Some examples created with Corona:

    Does this tutorial apply to the trial or is there a separate tutorial?
    I’m only a few minutes in and after I apply corona sun and sky, all I render is a pure white scene.

    • @grrinc
      @grrinc 2 года назад +1

      Okay…. I’ve figured it out…
      The trial, out of the ‘box’ doesn’t have the same settings that are shown in this video.
      In the Corona VFB, there’s a setting called Simple Exposure. In the video it’s set to -5.144, but mine was set at zero.
      I don’t think you should create videos in this manner tbh, it’s dishonest. If sky and sun doesn’t give realistic settings out of the box, you should go back to the drawing board, not tweak obscure settings that make it work.
      Day one and I’m not impressed so far. Nothing I can’t produce in the standard renderer a lot quicker.

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад

      @@grrinc Sorry to hear you ended up frustrated! The Exposure setting is not obscure however, it's something that does need adjusting in every scene, and by default it's set to give a good exposure for an interior scene lit by only a few windows - there's no exposure setting that will work for every scene by default and it always has to be adjusted, either a little or a lot (pretty much the one parameter you will always adjust). We'll keep in mind calling that out in future videos! Thanks! Tom

    • @grrinc
      @grrinc 2 года назад +1

      @@ChaosCorona Thanks for replying and I’ll keep that in mind as I persevere. May I ask how many passes your render took to achieve the noise free image in the thumbnail? The video implies around 20 passes. I have an intel I7 and my image was still full of noise after 250 passes. 20 minutes later I gave up. What system specs was used on your tutorial? I’d appreciate these details so I can manage my expectations.
      Sorry if I sound a bit off. Ive spent the last 3 weeks testing 3rd party C4D renderers and find all of them either buggy or slow.

    • @Bill-2128
      @Bill-2128 2 года назад +1

      @@ChaosCorona As long as you mentioned the Exposure why don't you explain where it is ? It is obscure and those users who aren't aware are watching a tutorial to learn things, not to hunt around on the interface

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад +1

      @@grrinc 250 passes does not sound right at all - systems used are generally in the range of a 3960X or similar. To be honest, if you have 250 passes and a lot of noise still, it would be best to head to the forums where you can share your version of the scene, screengrabs of settings, etc. so that support and the community can help out, as something sounds off there but impossible to diagnose what within the limits of RUclips comments :( This would be a good place so we can have a proper communication channel to help you out, forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?board=49.0 - also, sorry to hear about those frustrating 3 weeks, that does not sound fun. Anyway, we'll be happy to do what we can to help ease things on the Corona side at least! Tom

    Can users save new materials to Corona libray?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад

      This is not possible - also the Corona Material Library will be removed, probably in Corona 9, as it will be integrated as part of the Cosmos service instead. You can check progress on our tentative roadmap at trello.com/c/CnYaaKq8/131-unify-cosmos-and-corona-material-library . Thanks! Tom

    When did we see GPU rendering? Should we wait or ..............

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  2 года назад

      There are no plans at present to develop Corona for GPU, so no need to wait ;) Being fully CPU is either something you need and prefer (due to quality, reliability, compatibility, etc.), and if that's the case, then Corona is for you - if you require GPU, then Corona is not the solution you are looking for and we'd point you to the excellent V-Ray GPU as a great alternative!
