If you've got a 181 Nomad there, would you be able to measure exactly how wide the waist is? I gather it varies a bit with length and am wondering what it is at that length.

The width stated is at their stock size (176 I believe). The width will scale with the rest of the ski, typically this will result in 1 or 2 mm change in either direction.

How do the Nomad 95s compare to something like the Bent Chetler 100?

After testing, I found the bc 100 to be a bit snappier and better at higher speeds, while the nomad was a blast in bumps and softer snow. If you are looking at the nomad, a good compromise would be to size up.

    Great video!
Which of these would be best for a beginner?

None of the skis mentioned are particularly designed for the beginner skier. However I think with a shorter size most would be accessible to someone progressing their skills

I can't find the weight of the nomad 105 vs nomad lite

    • @winteriscalling3063

They are very close in weight. The lite is the same ski, but with the feather weight core. I think the difference is

@@winteriscalling3063 awesome thanks! I'm looking for a 1 ski quiver and I've researched everything and keep coming back to icelantic. I love the saba pro but maybe only 1 back country outing per year

@@koenig12 toss a shift binding on any of their skis. They are all relatively light. The Ripstick 96 from Elan has been a popular choice for this as well

I’m between the 86 and 96 Pioneer. Which would you recommend and why? (Skiing mostly West Coast and Rockies)

The 96 would probably be the better option unless you are not skiing any open bowls, or off-trail terrain. The 86 is still very capable but the 96 will perform better in a wider variety of conditions/terrain

Hi Guys. Like to buy Nomad95 as "all mountain" version. Are they still good for carving on hard prepaired terrain or they are to flex/soft? I am not talking about crazy carving 200 km/hour )) but just normal touring.

Hey Ivan. The nomad is going to feel a bit more “surfy” and playful while the pioneer will be a bit more precise. The stiffer tail lends itself to better carving performance..

Bro....why don't you actually measure the waist of that Nomad 105 before you just read the label.
